Barcelona is drawn against French Champions PSG in the first knock-out stage of this season's UEFA Champions League.

A mouth watering contest between FC Barcelona and PSG awaits everyone in the next round of UEFA Champions League competition. PSG will start favourite in the tie, courtesy of playing the second leg at home and Barcelona's poor season so far.

PSG is not flying in full cylinders so far this seaosn. So Barcelona definitely have a chnace. But a lot will depend on whether Koeman remains in charge. With the Dutchman in charge, we may not have any hope!

It is safe to say that this season has not gone to plans for Barcelona. Not as per the fans plans nor as per the coach's plans. The season has been a very disappointing affair so far.

Barcelona is in all kind of serious problems. Lying a whole mighty 9 points behind the League leaders, Barcelona's hopes of challenging for the League is virtually non-existent. Nor Barcelona's performances have shown any signs of a resurgence or an ambition to do so.

It appears Barcelona fans just couldn't wait to get rid of their new so-called favour. What surprises me is how many were disappointed by how things have taken turn for the worse. What did they expect? I foresaw this much earlier and warned. But who listened!

Anger doesn't solve anything. It builds nothing, but it can destroy everything.

This quote explains the current situation at Barcelona aptly. Barcelona and their fans were blinded by their anger at the 8-2 debacle, that they could not see that the so-called new Saviour was a buffoon who managed to expertly disguised as a Genius. He knew exactly how to tap into the anger of the fan base, he understood the need to look tough and the need to put the cloak of 'Know Everything'.

He played his part to perfection. But the only problem is that with time, all his masks were bound to come off, and that's what's happening to Ronal Koeman at Barcelona!

Diego Maradona, arguably the 'Greatest Player of All Time' passed away last night due to cardiac arrest. The Footballing World has lost his most beloved son, who remained an enigma on and off the pitch.

No one has managed to create an aura around himself like the way Diego Armando Maradona managed to weave around himself. He was the man football in every definition. Every one of his actions was followed closely by millions of fans around the World. He remains the most popular footballer ever to graze a footballing pitch.

There will never be another Diego Maradona. Such was the genius of a player whose story has every element of a Hollywood thriller. The rags to rich ascension and the collapse thereafter. At his departure, we should celebrate the joy he provided to every one of us on the footballing pitch. The rest of all we should leave it to the man and his maker!

The most hurting part of all this wasn't the result, it's the realization that there is no end of this suffering in near future.

It doesn't surprise us any more, these defeats. We have come to terms with these horrible results. Now the immediate prayer on everyone's mind would be to see a series of not-so-bad results, which would help us to qualify at least for Champions League.

That's how the situation has turned for worse under Koeman. Despite the horrible last few matches under Setien, we all would admit that he at least got us dreaming in the first few matches undercharge. Still, to date, we wonder why he changed from that initial orientation and how it would have all changed had he remained true to that.

With Koeman there was not such pretence! This guy's unique selling point was that 'He knew How to Fix Things'. At the moment he doesn't look capable of doing anything other than going down under the weight of his ego.

Nov 16, 2020

It has been a tough 18 months for Barcelona and after a difficult start to the 2020/21 campaign, the big concern for the Catalan club is that this season is going to end in a similar way.

New manager Ronald Koeman has not had the start he would have been looking for, which means that Barca are going to have to play catch up. Despite all the doom and gloom, we have decided to look at some positives which will hopefully keep spirits up for those who follow the most prestigious club in the world.

Nov 1, 2020

Ronald Koeman maybe his own biggest enemy at Barcelona. He seems incapable of adapting and getting the best out of the team. Realistically speaking, he doesn't even know how to use De Jong, something he claimed to know like his back of the hand!

Ronald Koeman was supposed to arrive with the magic wand to solve all of Barcelona's problems. Now that dream is slowly turning into a nightmare, even before he could realize the enormity of it. With every passing day, Koeman is proving that he is the manager Barcelona never should have hired.

The Dutch made all the big talks on arriving at the Club, but has failed so far to 'Walk the Talk'. He appears to be a confused, stubborn gentleman who is stuck in the wrong place. All the optimism that came with his arrival has rapidly evaporated, and things could turn really bad for him.

Oct 30, 2020

Just as critics began speculating on the downfall of FC Barcelona, a 2-0 victory over Juventus in the Champions League has now silenced the crowd. But can newly appointed head coach Ronald Koeman continue to keep his squad above board and hold onto the confidence they have earnt tonight?

We must understand the criticism towards Barcelona was more self-inflicted and at times has been unavoidable. When Lionel Messi announced his willingness to depart from his life-long club after their exit from the 2019/2020 Champions League had played out, and they had finished behind their rivals Real Madrid in domestic competition, these tensions organically reflected the team's on-pitch efforts.

Oct 29, 2020

Barcelona has made a perfect start to their European Campaign in contrast to their domestic campaign. Does that make them a genuine contender or is it just time before the 8-2 comes back to haunt?

The most astonishing fact from Barcelona's last night victory over Juventus is that their opponent did not manage to muster one shot on target. They did shoot ten times, but none were on target. Looking by Barcelona's away form in Europe, that's an astounding task.

Here they were visiting the reigning Italian Champions, a place where they never tasted victory before. And it was a complete shut-off. Had our players been a bit more effective in front of the goal, things could have got seriously embarrassing for the Italians. This victory marks Barcelona as an outside contender as per the latest sports betting odds.

Do the Catalan Giants have a realistic chance to win the league title this season? Or is it just plain obvious that they will struggle?

Hope re-kindles in strangest fashion, when you least expect! That was the feeling we got when we were hit with the rather positive news of Bartomeu resigning last night. Now that's a lot of rarity in one episode - first of all, the very fact that fans felt good regarding news about the Board, that's a true rarity.

The second has to be the realization that Bartomeu eventually got around the idea of resigning rather than throwing the Club into the deeper abyss with the impending 'Vote of Censure' process. Third would be the fact that after so long, we have finally got rid of 'The Unwanted One'. What is left to be seen is the state of affairs he has left! It would not be surprising if we start seeing things tumbling out of the closet now!

Ungrateful Barcelona fans have been questioning Messi's performance so far this season. If what we saw against Real Madrid is an indication, he is all set to kick these doubters behind in coming weeks!

Is Lionel Messi back to his Best?

The more you listen to those half-informed Barcelona fans and Messi doubters on Twitter, you get convinced with every single post that these fans don't deserve him. They can't even see the impact he brings into the team as they can't think straight anything other than some random stats.

So we are told that Messi had a poor night against Real Madrid as he once again failed to get into the goal-scoring chart. And to make matters worse, he was neither in those assist charts. One cannot argue with dim-witted fools because they don't understand the beautiful games. How can you make these fools understand that without Messi's ball there was no equalizer? What Fati and Alba did from then was a mere formality. But they never understand!

Ronald Koeman's tenure at Barcelona has got to a good start till Sevilla came calling. That match exposed a lot of fault lines in Barcelona's armour and also hinted that the problems from last season hasn't disappeared completely, ifyou were hoping so

The match against Sevilla exposed the Fault lines at Barcelona in terms of tactics and personal. Koeman needs to fix the same to solve these issues as early as possible. In this podcast we take a deep look into 3 of the main issue affecting Koeman's Barcelona.

Oct 5, 2020

Sevilla exposed the folly of limiting Lionel Messi in a false-9 role! Is practically possible to use the false-9 role in the 4-2-3-1 formation, Koeman's preferred choice?

Why Messi as False-9 Experiment should Stop Immediately!

So it all went back to square one for Barcelona, once again! The Euphoria of the Koeman fanboys on the social media lasted two matches, exactly two matches. Now it's been replaced by self-doubts across the internet. The match at times resembled how Barcelona played under Valverde, and that's making a lot of people nervous.

Still, the Koeman fanboys are full out in support. They understand that the match presented serious questions about the Dutchman's tactical acumen, but none of it matters. Right now, they are going after their favourite scapegoat - Lionel Messi. As I explained earlier, even if Messi was the one creating any kind of move, he will be always be blamed this season.

High flying Koeman's Barcelona was brought down to reality by a very sturdy and efficient Sevilla side. In the end, everyone agrees that the 1-1- draw was a just result as both teams showed their pedigree.

After keeping two clean sheets and scoring a ton of goals in their first two matches, Barcelona were reminded of their fragility today when Sevilla was held to a draw at Camp Nou. Luuk de Jong opened the scoring for Sevilla before Coutinho equalizing within minutes.

Both teams failed to add another to the tally, even though they had enough chances. In the end, both teams were equally balanced. Barcelona had the better of possession, but the Sevilla had the better of Shots taken. The differences in all these between the teams were very minute. And that's how well these two teams were balanced!

Sensational Ansu Fati scores twice and creates another to help Koeman open his Barcelona Managerial era in some style.

Much was expected of Ansu Fati who officially became a first-team player this season. And he didn't disappoint. Surrounded by all proven stars, the 17-year old produced sensational football securing Barcelona a brilliant victory in the season opener. He scored twice, secured a penalty and was a threat throughout on the left-wing.

The opener against Villareal was considered a very tricky affair. But then Barcelona had Ansu Fati, who along with Alba was in full flow on the left-hand side of the pitch. Messi whose commitment will be questioned from many corners this season scored one goal via a penalty and created the chance which ended in the fourth goal.

Messi got a glimpse of how he will be treated this season by the Board and the President when Bartomeu spoke finally about the 'Messi Burofax' saga. His statement had the euphoria associated with a victor fo battel. Indeed he emerged victorious in a battle we expected him to lose hands down. Congrats to that!

The statement was indeed a taunt on Messi, especially the part where he decided to congratulate himself in keeping Messi at Barcelona. To an extent, Messi deserves this. He deserves this for not showing any will to fight!

Is there a calculated plan behind all the missteps Bartomeu is taking at Barcelona? It's very difficult to assume that there isn't one! Bartomeu may be trying to protect his Legacy in the long run, and he may have a simple and effective solution!

Is Bartomeu Trying to Sabotage the Next President's Tenure at Barcelona?

Every day we Barcelona fans wakes up to a new mess created specifically by the President and the Board. Lats night I went to sleep after being assured about the departure of Luis Saurez to Atletico Madrid. He is a Club Legend in all aspect, but his time has come to an end at Barcelona. The news of Mess

But then as only a Barcelona fan can expect, one woke up to the real possibility the entire move being sabotaged from within the club itself. In the end, all this could turn out to be mere rumours, but everyone will admit that this won't be beyond the capacity of this President and the Board!

Koeman believes the 4-2-3-1 formation to be the iodeal one for Barcelona. In fact, he believes that it's a formation for all seasons! Does such a thing ever exist?

Is Koeman a One Strategy Man? Will this be his Down Fall?

Koeman's belief in the 4-2-3-1 formation was hailed as something revolutionary by the fanboys. Now the reality is slowly taking a bite! People have started questioning whether the formation suits the Catalan side!

People are quite agitated about the reports suggesting that Puig is not in the plans of Koeman. It's strange how people are so naive to not see the obvious. I wrote a couple of posts back, why Riqui Puig will never have any role with Koeman and his 4-2-3-1 formation.

Sep 16, 2020

Koeman's biggest challenge will be to integrate some of the promising youngsters into the line-up, at the same time using the best of the proven stars. Riqui Puig's role is still not clear in the line-up and will be the primary focus for the new coach.

Why Shifting Immediately to a 3 Man Defense will help Riqui Puig and Barcelona?

Many Barcelona fans are slowly waking up to the prospect of seeing very less of Riqui Puig this season. That was unthinkable for many fanboys, a week before but slowly and steadily the reality is dawning upon them.

In every sense, it is quite disastrous for the Club and the youngster, if he ends up not being a first-team regular this season. The five-man substitute allows him to see some playing time, but then he is not yet promoted to the first team. Only Ansu Fati is promoted.

Sep 15, 2020

Even playing in a deeper role than his preferred one, Riqui Puig was simply sensational against Tarragona. He once again made a strog case for a regular starter role at Barcelona.

Riqui Puig once again was one of the shining stars from Barcelona's first pre-season frindly. It is no coincidence that we take not of his talent everytime he step foot on a football pitch. That speaks enormously about the talent Riqui Puig possess. It also is a testimony to his enormous spirit. There is not a single dull moment with him around.

Against Tarragona, even playing in a deeper role than his rpeferred rol, he was buzzing with energy. He proved that if needed he can be played in the pivot also. His spirit never dies not even a bit, regardless of the situation he is put in. Here are some of his brightest moments from that macth.

Sep 14, 2020

Koeman's biggest problem could effectively integrating Francisco Trincão to play efficiently with Lionel Messi, Barcelona's Captain. It may seem so simple, but we have seen how players struggled earlier! Will it happen again?

Francisco Trincão entertained all in Barcelona's first outing of the 2020-21 season. Even though the opposition was a below-average side, and we should refrain from going euphoric about that display; even then Barcelona fans were quite impressed by what they saw of Francisco Trincão.

The second half display was quite brilliant, especially if we compare with the first-half display. The second half had the young and the new kids, and that was the difference-maker. But the brightest spot was Trincão.

Sep 13, 2020

Many consider him to be one of the brightest spots from a rather disappointing season. Will this be the Season where he genuinely becomes one of the starters. Or is he going to struggle with new manager around!

Riqui Puig was one of the rare bright spots along with Ansu Fati, from a rather disappointing last season. He was quite good and we all demanded more and was disappointed when we didn't see enough of him towards the end of the season.

It was surprising why Setien failed to use him after he looked pretty bright in many of his outings. Naturally, everyone expects him to showcase his talent more this season. Is that going to happen? Maybe not, and don't be surprised!

Sep 7, 2020

With Lionel Messi staying back at the Club, the majority of the Cules are relieved. Relieved that this extended saga, that threatened to upend the season is finally over. Relieved that the World's Best Player will be there for at least one more season. The key is the word 'at-least'!

The announcement also rekindled the hope of maybe seeing Messi play out his career at Barcelona. The dream of every Barcelona fan would be to see their captain renew for another two more years. We still need to wait to see how that hope will churn out!

Sep 5, 2020

Even though Messi can claim the higher ground, when the dust settles the winner will emerge from the opposite end, and unfortunately it is Bartomeu.

In the end, the only one who will stand alone when the dust settles would be Lionel Messi, the Argentinian Maestro. His supporters may claim how Messi handled a very tricky situation, with a targetted attack on the board and clearly explaining his decision to stay back at the club.

But when it all ends, this will be once again remembered as another moment where Messi failed to stand up and fight when the going got tough. That's always an accusation even those who loved him regularly levels against him. The current situation is not going to look favorable when viewed through that angle.

Sep 2, 2020

Catalan media is painting a picture favorable for Bartomeu in the whole saga, but they know that Messi holds all the card. His silence is killing them.

So what we have learned so far - Messi and his camp believe that he is no longer a Barcelona player, Messi wants to go from Barcelona with amicable terms, Bartomeu doesn't want anything of it, He wants Messi to renew the contract.

One thing is clear whether he likes it or not, Messi is gone for good. If the court does not allow him to leave Barcelona, there is a high chance of him retiring from football than continue playing at Barcelona. Then as he did with Argentina, he will make a come back from retirement in the winter transfer window. Not a bad option for Manchester City!

Aug 28, 2020

Lionel Messi should insist on leaving Barcelona for free as mentioned in his exit clause. That will be a huge favor he will be doing for his old club as well as his new club.

All signs show that 'Messi-Exit' saga is only in his initial stages. The entire Globe including social media and the footballing clubs are in a stage of shock. Many of the active Pursuiter is struggling to make out whether this is all a political circus or an active interest of 'The GOAT' to move away.

No one wants to end up looking stupid. It's normal, and that's why no club is showing a clear public interest in the pursuit. Behind the scenes, everyone is making contact. The silence surrounding the Messi entourage makes this entire episode more intriguing!

Aug 26, 2020

Lionel Messi's impending departure has made the already chaotic situation of the Club even worse. Even if he is forced to stay, this will indefinitely damage the Club beyond repair.

A great love story which started with a Paper napkin, is ending more bizarrely, with another piece of paper - burofax. It appears that the term will be added soon to the famous English dictionaries! The burofax which Messi sent to express his desire to leave the club for free, has hurled Chaos in Barcelona. The Socios and their leaders appear to be unmoved, but fans across the World are terrified even thinking about it.

As we stand we are hearing too many versions leaked from the Club. One version says, that the Club has reminded him of his release clause of 700 Million and he is still a Barcelona fan. Another version says that the Club sent a reply saying that they want him to continue, and complete the career in Barcelona!

Aug 22, 2020

The kind of vitriol that's thrown on the likes of Messi, Saurez and Busquets baffles everyone. One is left to wonder whether any other club supporters will treat their Legends this way!

The way things are turning out baffles everyone. Bartomeu and Rosell destroyed everything which was held dear to this club. The footballing project was destroyed with impeccable precision, La Masia was demoted to just being cattle shed and a team which entertained football fans across the world with their tiki-taka style of football was reduced a poor imitation of itself.

The one guy who held things together, Lionel Messi is now being held as the guys who are responsible for all this. In reality, it was Lionel Messi's superheroic performance which peppered over all the cracks. Going into the Bayern clash we believed we had a chance because of one man, and that says it all!

Aug 20, 2020

With another Cryuff disciple in charge now, will we see a resurrection of Barcelona? Or the curse of 'Cryuff's Tears' will sink the club to further lows!

There is indeed an element of poetic justice with what is going on at the great Sporting Institution named, FC Barcelona. I purposely didn't use the word football club, because it's not the footballing project which remains completely shattered. It was merely the last bastion that was destroyed by the evil King and his kin.

It is safe to say that Barcelona has lost its identity in terms of Footballing ideals and Principles which governed the clubs. Nowadays under the able leadership of Bartomeu and earlier Rosell, Money, Fame, and Success are the only things which matter. That was not the case with the Club for a pretty long time.

Aug 19, 2020

Barcelona's first European Cup hero, Ronald Koeman is handled the task of steering a wrecked ship. The Dutch is expected to make some tough decision.

FC Barcelona has officially announced the appointment of Ronald Koeman as the new Firts team Manager. He joins the Club in a 2 year long deal whch will end on 30th June 2022. The former Dutch international has resigned from his current position as the National team manager.

It is believed that Barcelona will be compensating the Dutch federation to the tune of 5 million for his service. The Club also confirmed the appointment of Ramon Planes as technical director, who replaces the now sacked Eric Abidal.

Aug 16, 2020

The current Barcelona President, Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed that he has no intention to resign from Barcelona power structure anytime soon. It appears that no humiliation is big enough for the crook to leave from a place, which will feel the after-effects of his destruction for ages.

There is no hope for Barcelona with Bartomeu in Charge!

Strangely enough, even an 8-2 humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich may not be good enough to get rid of the crook named Bartomeu from Barcelona. That's a bitter truth which is sinking in slowly in the minds of all those enraged Barcelona fans. Despite the enormity of the humiliation we may have to slowly accept the fact that 'Nothing will Change' in Barcelona!

The players have gone into hiding for now. They won't remain their long. Once they understand that Bartomeu will do everything to cling to his position, they will be out backing their President who will guarantee their enormous paycheck. So wait for that brilliant statement from Jordi Alba about the thankless Barcelona fans.

Aug 15, 2020

Barcelona suffered their worst ever European defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich losing 8-2. To be honest the scoreline could have been a lot worse!

There is nothing to say or write after what we saw at display in Portugal tonight. The Barcelona team suffered their worst defeat in living memory. Bayern treated them like schoolboys. May be comparing the display of our boys to schoolboy is a disgrace to the latter!

In the end we all felt relieved that it was only 8-2. It could have been a lot worse. Barcelona deserved to lose by at least a dozen goals today. They should thank their luck that the deficit was only 6 goals.

Lionel Messi Gifs against Bayern Munich

With the Bayern encounter just around the corner, this will definitely calm down a lot of nerves and instill hope among Barcelona fans. The situations could be different, but Messi remains the same and will be a handful come Friday.

Lionel Messi single-handedly destroyed Bayern that night, and if they come with full-on arrogance, he could make them pay again!

Aug 11, 2020

Barcelona start as only the second favorite in their match against German Champions. Will they be able to create an upset or the nightmare of 7-0 defeat make a comeback visit?

Messi Scoring against Bayern Munich

This year's Champions League tie has moved into its final leg with the Quarter Finals starting from tomorrow night. The Coronavirus impact has created a drastic change in the way the Tournament is organized. Gone are those beautiful home and away trips concept!

Anyways with the Stadium being empty, the home advantage matters very little. There is no intimidation visiting an away stadium. So the decision by UEFA to conduct the entire tournament from now on as a single-legged tie seems perfectly logical.

Aug 10, 2020

Off-late Quique Setién's decision making resembles Valverde to a high extent. He remains passive and is afraid to make any changes. Has he already been fired by Barcelona?

Against all the odds, and amongst all the negativity, Barcelona managed to proceed to the next round of Champions League. That's a feat the newly crowned Spanish Champions and Italian Champions failed to do. The failure of Juventus is quite big as everyone expected them to stroll past Lyon.

Barcelona was expected to struggle, and for the fans they did struggle. But still, at the end of the day, they moved past a good Napoli side with an aggregate scoreline of 4-2. That's a positive way of looking at it!

Aug 9, 2020

Lionel Messi produced mesmiring moments in the match against Napoli. He may not have been in his most inspiring best, but wjhat he produced in pieces was pure magic.

Check out Messi's inspiring performances in GIF images below:

FC Barcelona secured progression to next round of Champions League with a 3-1 victory at Camp Nou over Napoli. Barcelona secured progression with a 4-2 aggregate score. Lenglet, Messi and Saurez scored for Barcelona to secure a tight victory.

Check out the highlights of FC Barcelona vs Napoli video below:

Despite all those lingering doubts, Barcelona made to the next round of the Champions League courtesy of Barcelona's magician, Lionel Messi. Now for Messi, a bigger Bayern test awaits!

Lionel Messi Inspires Barcelona Victory

FC Barcelona - 3 | Napoli - 1

If there was any doubt regarding whether Barcelona's fate lies in the hand of a single man, this match cleared all that doubt. Barcelona will stay alive so far Messi can create magic like this continuously.

If Barcelona fans were looking for hope in this match, they most probably would have been left with mixed feelings. Barcelona did more than enough to secure the progress but not in a convincing fashion.

Jul 31, 2020

There is unanimous agreement among everyone involved in Football about Braithwaite's future at Barcelona. Very few expect him to stay in Barcelona. Maybe he should!

To be in Braithwaite's shoes is a very difficult situation currently. Every day there is news about him, unfortunately for him its always about his departure from Barcelona in the transfer window. None of us is surprised by all these developments!

His was an emergency signing to fill the void in the squad left by Saurez and Dembele's injury. With those players back and many expecting better future signings, Martin Braithwaite may be an excess in the squad. But he still could offer a lot in Barcelona and maybe the club should give him a real chance.

Jul 14, 2020

The prospect of a trophyless season is very much on, but Quique Setién ain't going to go down quietly. The entire focus will be shifting to the Champions League very quickly.

Barcelona have never won a Champions League title without lifting the League title before-hand. That's usually something their arch-rival Real Madrid forte to perform. For Barcelona, Champions League is usually a reflection of the exceptional form they show throughout.

With already knocked out of Copa del Rey, and almost at the verge of surrendering the League title to Real Madrid, Barcelona's only hope for saving this season is in Europe.

Jul 13, 2020

On the onset, it looks like a decision that has happened in far-away England. But both the clubs have too many connections in recent times, to overlooks!

Latest FC Barcelona Breaking News

From the time the news broke out of CAS over-turning of a two-year Champions League ban of Manchester City, the social media sphere has gone into overdrive. The complete overturning of the ban came as a surprise even for City fans, most of them expected a reduction of the ban. Even though a 10 million fine has been imposed, that will not affect the Manchester side's prospects.

Some may say it's preposterous to link this news with a crisis in Barcelona. But this event may have huge ramifications in Barcelona! Let's look at the Why's and How's of it below.

Lionel Messi has not seen a single minute of rest after the restart. Even if the La Liga title chase goes to the wire, Quique Setién may have to rest him now!

Setien and Messi

For Barcelona, it's the faintest of the hope that's driving their extra-ordinary push to the grand finale of their title defense. The hope that Real Madrid will eventually slip, and we will be able to capitalize. Mathematically it's very much possible for us to win this, but realistically is there any hope?

When Corona break came, Barcelona was two points ahead of Real Madrid. But after the break, we were lethargic and trail by one point with our opponent having a match in hand. Barcelona always had the worst run of matches coming to the finale, and that is proving to be the difference maker!

Jul 12, 2020

Arturo Vidal's vital early goal secures Barcelona in a vital away fixture. Now all eyes shifts to Real Madrid's game against an in-form Granada.

Ter Stegan was instrumental for Barcelona against Real Valladolid

It was a struggle in the end. FC Barcelona secured three vital points against Real Valladolid, cutting the lead at the top to just one point. As expected, Barcelona did the only thing they could do in the chase, try to win all their matches. And obviously, there is the small factor of praying for Real Madrid dropping points.

It was an early goal from Vidal created by Lionel Messi which became the difference-maker. Messi with that assist now has 20 assists in this season.

Jul 9, 2020

Barcelona did what they could do at the moment, winning their game and stay on the trail of Real Madrid. This wasn't any spectacular performance, but good enough to secure three points.

Barcelona Players Celebrating victory over Espanyol

Barcelona secured vital three points in their mostly fading campaign to defend the La Liga title. This victory moves them a point behind the league leader Real Madrid. The capital side has one game in hand and all eyes will be on how they fare against Alaves, who themselves are struggling big time.

The 1-0 victory against Espanyol wasn't spectacular but was enough to secure three points. Barcelona's victory confirmed the relegation of their city rivals to the Segunda Division. It's quite sad to see a Catalan side going down, but it was inevitable.

Best Dribbles by Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi has mesmerized us all with his unbelievable miracle dribbles. The strange fact is that if we take a list of his amazing dribbles, which hit the post or narrowly missed, that will round to quite some number. Some of his most fanous goals are also scored from his mesmerizing dribbles.

Which one of these is your favourite dribbles across his career? Or is it another one, let me know.

After a waiting period which threatened to extend to infinity, we finally saw the much anticipated Messi-Saurez-Griezmann trident clicking together. Is this the start of something beautiful?

Messi, Saurez, and Griezmann started to Click

Finally, the much-awaited, much-anticipated trident clicked together - Messi, Saurez, and Griezmann, popularly known as the MSG. Is this the start of something new or just another false hope? Only time will tell. How Barcelona's season will end will depend heavily on the answer to this!

There were glimpses of hope in some of the earlier matches. But it's fair to say, those were mere aberrations. This was in contrast looked like the real deal. The difference was the way they were linking and how easily they fit into the system.

Best FC Barcelona Players

You don't need to be a lifelong Barca fan to recognise the club's unparalleled contributions to football history. The club is the richest in the world, with annual revenues exceeding €840 million, as well as being home to the world's highest-paid players and the highest number of Golden Shoe Award recipients.

With this in mind, it is unsurprising that FC Barcelona has produced some of the greatest sporting talent in the history of football, with countless star players going on to become household names and living legends. Let's take a closer look at the best players in Barca's history, and what it is that makes them so great.

Barcelona secured a brilliant victory over Villareall away froom home and that too with a majestic performance, a rare combination these days. In the Grand scheme of things, will this even matter?

Messi, Saurez and Griezman forms the MSG Trident

Barca - 4 | Villareal - 1

FC Barcelona scored a vital 4-1 victory away from home against Villareal, a rarity these days! If the final scoreline was a rarity, the quality of the football on display was even more. I can't even recall the last time we saw such a brilliant performance from this Barcelona side away from home.

Despite the quality on display, this may have arrived a tad too late for Barcelona's title prospects. Real Madrid now lies four points ahead and once again with help of dubious VAR decision.
