The recent signings of Philippe Coutinho and Yerra Mina have significantly strengthened Barcelona's squad, but there seems sure to be even more transfer activity at the Nou Camp over the coming months.

Gerard Deulofeu, Rafinha, Carles Alena, Dennis Saurez and Sergi Roberto are amongst the players linked with a move away from the club, opening the door for even more incomings during 2018.

We look at four players who manager Ernesto Valverde may add to his squad this year.

With Barca capturing Philippe Coutinho at a record £142 Million Pounds, the future of many promising Barca youngsters and fringe players are at stake. There could be an exodus of players come this summer inorder to balance the book at FC Barcelona.

5 Barca Youngster who could push for a transfer next summer -

With the conclusion of Coutinho deal there is expected to be a substantial number of clear-out at Barca come this summer. There are some senior players along with young players who will be either forced or will prefer to mve out of Camp Nou. Of the senior players Mascherano is expected to move to China as he is very much near the end of his career (then looking at Paulinho situation it may be too early to say), Aleix Vidal is another player who is expected to move out even though I wouldn't be very much surprised if the club decides to retain. He could be still a good squad player, one who could play in multiple role. That may be sometimes under-appreciated, but still would have an heavy impact in keeping the squad fresh for bigger matches.

Here in this article we take a look at the five youngsters of Barca who could be making a move away from Camp Nou as Coutinho arroval seriously threatens their chances:

Amidst all the noises surrounding Coutinho transfer saga, Umtiti rumours should worry Barca most!

Samuel Umtiti has been linked with a host of European Clubs this Winter Transfer window. Barca seems to be preparing a new deal to tie down the Frenchman at Camp Nou

Since the opening of the Winter transfer window, there is only one name in the Barca circles - Philippe Coutinho. All the news in one way or other is linked to the Brazilian and daily there are tons of rumours related to it. Some claim that their news are authentic; but then we saw how trustful they were in the Summer transfer window. Amidst all these noises, some other rumours related to Umtiti is worrying everyone. At first it looked like someone's imaginative thinking but lately it appear to be taking a life on it's own. It actually doesn't make sense, but Barca fans and supporters are like the "A cat bitten once by a snake dreads even rope"; especially after seeing how the Neymar saga evolved rapidly.

FC Barcelona will approach Liverpool with another attempt to sign Coutinho in the Winter Transfer window

The ongoing saga surrounding Barcelona's pursuit of Philippe Coutinho looks set to rumble on, with the latest developments taking a rather odd turn. New Year's Eve sent Liverpool fans into meltdown as sportswear giants Nike, who manufacture Barca's kits, advertised club shirts with Coutinho's name on the back, despite the fact that no deal has been agreed.

Coutinho was the subject of numerous bids by Barcelona last summer and he has been strongly linked with a move to Nou Camp in January.

Barcelona may have lost Neymar in the summer transfer window, but the Blaugrana are showing no signs of missing the Brazil international forward at the moment. Barca are four points clear at the top of La Liga after 11 rounds of matches and eight ahead of bitter rivals Real Madrid. Ernesto Valverde’s side are at the top of Champions League Group D and are playing pretty decent football. Neymar who?

When you make the right decision, it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks. Caroline Kennedy

Barca completed the biggest sale in footballing universe when PSG decided to spend 220 million of their Oil money to purchase Neymar's release clause. I still can't get over that amount! 220 Million! Can you believe that? Three seasons back we were rigorously arguing why 100 Million for a footballer in pure nonsense. If that was nonsense, then what is this! God Knows! Only thing I know is we live in a completely screwed up World. Funny part is, now I wonder how much will be Messi be worth if we put him in the market. We better not give any ideas. The management urgently needs to re-look at Messi's release clause of 300 Million. Some idiot may come up with a bid! Now looking at the middle east rivalry between UAE and Qatar, will Manchester City take a shot at 300 Million? Who knows!

Barca looking to Bid for Oriol Romeu

- Oriol Romeu Playing in Barca Jersey -

It is far better to foresee even without certainty than not to foresee at allHenri Poincare

So much have changed for Barca this season, especially at the midfield. The midfield which was once the source of everything good at Barca have suddenly turned into a quagmire. With Iniesta's absence it has practically become non-existent; prompting questions whether it was wise to let Xavi leave rather than keeping him still the midfield transition was on-going. It wasn't anything like this last season; the trio of Rakitic, Iniesta and Busquets was solid behind the fearsome front trio. Then what changed this season - the answer is pretty simple and clear for everyone - Sergio Busquets. The Spanish midfielder, whose place in starting eleven was never a point of discussion suddenly has become the weak-link (Sergio Busquets form is Worrying Everone at Barca). Add to that the fact that Rakitic is a completely different kind of midfielder compared to Xavi; we have a practically non-existent midfield in the absence of Iniesta.

  • Rumours have become strong about the impending transfer of Luis Saurez to FC Barcelona.
  • FC Barcelona is rumoured to have come to an agreement with the Striker for signing a 5 year Deal.

Finally Luis Suárez issued the much awaited apology for the disgraceful biting incident; it came after a lot of denial, strange excuses and may be even fooling the entire nation to stand behind him. For those who watched the incident (even in real time) there was no doubt about what happened on the night when Uruguay dumped Italy out of the World Cup; unless you were an Uruguayan! It was quite a disgraceful incident and the history of the player suggests that he is a walking danger to fellow players on the pitch. One could argue that his early struggles in his life are the reason for such a volatile character; but for the assaulted player that is not any reason for comfort. The inside story about the sudden U-Turn by the player may have a FC Barcelona dimension to it. Considering just days ago even the President of his country openly supported him, the apology came a bit too early. Am not sure how his supporters should feel about this? After all they were the only one who believed his story of "Losing balance and accidently clashing his face on to Chiellini".

Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth. Marcus Aurelius

The rumours are buzzing around about a deal between Sevilla and Barca for the potential signing of Ivan Rakitic. Catalan radio station, RAC1 has broke this story and what we are made to belive is that only few details are left to close this deal. Ivan Rakitic, who have a 40 Million buyout clause would join Barca for 15 Million + another 5 Million in bonus deal. This is made possible due to a clause in Rakitic current deal with Sevilla, which lowers his buyout clause if FC Barcelona or Real Madrid comes caling for his service. Both of them had arrived, and it is reported that the midfielder chose the Catalan giants ahead of the current UEFA Champions League winner. If the reported price is correct, then it's one hell of a grab for FC Barcelona and a huge loss for Sevilla.

A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. Winston Churchill

Again those damn lies! It's just don't stop wouldn't it? Then this is transfer window is all about, at least for Sport and MundoDeportivo. Yesterday they were at it again; the front page was full of stories about Marco Reus arrival to Barca. This was supposed to complete in a matter of days, or so did they say. The way it was put forward, especially the ferocity made it a believable one to many. But all those dreams have just thrashed by a clear cut statement from Borussia Dortmund. One has to question whether the way the Spanish media was building up this story forced the German club to make an official statement. Dortmund's Sporting Director Michael Zorc made it crystal clear what he thought about these rumours when popped the question :

Firstly, Marco Reus has himself said he will play next season at Dortmund. And secondly, it would be of no use to make an offer because we have no intention of letting Marco go.Michael Zorc, Borussia Dortmund Director

I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you. Friedrich Nietzsche

Now they say he is not going to join us! For weeks we have been bombarded with stories of how Barca have identified Aymeric Laporte as one of teh defensive reinforcements. Stories were broken about how the player and the FC Barcelona Futball club has reached personal agreement; how it's just a matter of time before we see the player wearing the renowned Barca jersey. Now they have a different take on all this. Why? Because Aymeric Laporte have renewed his contract with Atletic Bilbao, so did the club announced. Now the media pundits are saying that his arrival to Barca is not going to happen. one could ask why i never reported anything about this story. That's precisely because I never thought this will happen.

I hate to spread rumours, but what else can one do with them? Amanda Lear

That's the fun in all this! It doesn't have to make any sense, just being there will do. With the current state of affairs at Barca, anyone can create one, spread it like wild fire and almost make us believe that it's the truth. One have to admit the Catalonia based mediahouse, Sport is doing a good job at it. Let's admit it, we love them too. It's all fun to get up every morning with your club getting linked with a new star, the hope of endless possibility driving you crazy. The only problem is the usual disappointments that is associated with all this at the end of the transfer window. Barca fans have been subjected to that in the last two seasons. So it's better to take every rumour with a pinch of salt.

It’s déjà vu all over again.

With strong reports of David Luiz's impending transfer to PSG (this time from a much trustworthy news source) , Barca fans cannot help having that worse Déjà Vu feeling yet again. We have seen this earlier, isn't it! It happened last season, the season and will continue again this season, many a times. It's not a surprise any more, we have been trained to expect this and this alone for sometime. A week ago we were told that David Luiz transfer is all done and dusted. Of course the story was broken by Sport and some could argue I am a bit crazy to have believed this in first place. But once again, they were good at selling the dream and normally we couldn't stop ourselves from believing.

David Luiz to Barca

David Luiz is getting linked back again to Barca. Now that is mostly like a annually repeating deal. This time the rumours are pretty strong. Things have changed for both Barca and Luiz from last summer, which strengthens the rumour. First of all we are desperate for a defender, especially with Puyol also leaving. Second is the crucial one, Luiz is not so clear about his role at Chelsea. He has been not so regular in Mourinho's plan. For Barca Luiz would be a great signing. He is more or less in the same mold of Puyol in terms of defending. The additional advantage is his presence in opposition box something we have been lacking recently. This story is still developing, so watch out this space.

Cesc Fabregas Transfermarkt - Should Barca sell Francesc Fàbregas?
The true value is very hard to determine, it's all smoke and mirrors

Cesc Fabregas has been subject of many a debate at Barca before he arrived from Arsenal. Mostly those were centred on how to get the boy back at Barca or should we get him back at Barca? Little has changed since his arrival at Barca. He is still the hottest property in any Barca centric debate! Only change has been a slight modification to the topics - earlier if it was how and should we sign him; now it's changed to how and Why we should sell him? That's a small but significant change. There is a tendency to put Barca's recent failures, especially after Fabregas was signed on his head. We all complain about how he goes missing in big matches and are a liability at times. But have we ever paused and thought for a while what is hampering him at Barca? Unless we do the same, we may not be able to answer whether Cesc is the future at Barca?

The transfer stories are in full flow even before the season has come to an end. If this is the state of affairs now, one could only imagine the pandemonium that could be created once the transfer windows opens. Barca's problems of the season necessiated the reinforcement of more than one position. Since "Necessity is the Mother of Invention", new and fresh rumours get invented every day. One of the problems of having a great season, especially for an underdog is that you get to lose the best players you have got. Most probably that could be what Atletico could be facing this transfer window. Something they won't complain about, since they need the money from the sales very badly.

You can hear rumors. But you can't know them.

That's precisely the fun about rumours, they are to be heard, believed and forgotten. But they are capable of upsetting the emotions, destroying relationships, invoking hope when none exists; but in the end it's not the rumour which is at fault but the idiot who believe that! Then in a transfer season, we all play that innocent idiot part to perfection. So currently we believe that the club is going to sell 16 of it's players, has already signed defenders who will strengthen the defense and the best of all - Zubizarreta, our sporting director has drawn a list of 80 players who we are interested. Yup, you heard it right, 80! That too by a man who could not draw a list of two defenders to buy last season. Once again we are bombarded with rumours, most of them would turn out to be damn lies. Then some would argue that there are not rumours, but fresh news broken out by Catalan media houses. But we all knew when it comes to Sport and Mundo, every rumour is the news and every news is a rumour.

May 7, 2014

It looks like one needs to pray for a steady thinking mind to survive this transfer season. That's how fast and bad the rumours are flying in. Seventy percent of it is the usual crap, which the Catalan based media houses - Sport and MundoDeportivo specializes in. The other 20% looks like is created by rival media houses(read AS and Marca) to destabilize their favorite rival. In midst of all this, true to the nature of the league this season - the League situation has taken a turn for the best or the worst(depends on each person). When we failed to win on Saturday, we gave up all the hope of a silverware this season. But just sheer fate and fate alone, we are dragged back into this race. We have been trying our best to get out of this La Liga race, but it just won't simply let you go.

With the temporary lifting of transfer ban imposed on Barca, there are too much speculation going on. The latest we have heard is the potential sale of Javier Mascherano. A few months ago all the fans could be up in arms against such a move. But at the current moment there sure will be conflicting ideas on their minds about this possibility. In any case this all will happen if our management does the stuff they are supposed to do - sign quality central defenders. Going by their track record, we could expect them to make a lot of noise about the possibility of signing a number of players, naming them openly, by doing so alerting other clubs to that possibility and eventually getting prized out of the market. They are good enough to make excuses about this and excellent in selling to the members. Remember last summer transfer window?

Dani Alves future at Barca has been under constant speculation for the past one year. Some expect the club to cash in on a player who was the main stay to Barca's success but also is approaching 30. There is a school of thought that if we are going to make money out of Alves, then that moment would be right now. Barca fans are totally split on Alves. His form may have been bit patchy lately and his crosses has failed to reach the targets. But they do realize that his defensive fragility is due to the fact that he is getting stretched on the right with make shift central defenders alongside him. The management may not mid cash in on the players especially his open outburst against Rosell for selling Abidal. Whatever the case, a final decision will be made by the player and the club after the World Cup.
