Two Goals from Lionel Messi and One from Luis Saurez helped Barca secure a much needed victory at the Estadio El Sadar Stadium against the home side Osasuna. This will reduce the lead at top to three points temporarily but it will most probably restored to six points by the time Real Madrid's home match against Deportivo at home ends.

Saurez Opening Scoring against Real Madrid

- Luis Saurez Scoring against Real Madrid -

Extended highlights of the first Clasico encounter between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid at teh Camp Nou on 3rd December 2016. Luis Saurez opened the scoring for Barcelona early in first half; Serio Ramos equalised at the very end breaking the majority of home fans heart.

Iniesta surrounded by Real Madrid players in El Clasico

- Andres Iniesta with the Ball Playing against Real Madrid -

This result is hard to take after such a great effort. I am happy to be back and for our fans. Together, we march on!Andres Iniesta

Recently El Clasico's never failed to entertain and without much doubt has been one of the most entertaining encounters between top sides in Europe. Usually when two top sides clash in any league in Europe, it usually would be a very cagey match with very much less excitement and too much intensity. But Clasico's usually is quite different in terms footballing skills and entertainment. Last night encounter was a disgrace to that tradition. It resembled the usual ManU vs Chelsea matches we have seen over the years rather that the Barca vs Madrid match. I have never seen a Clasico match filled with so much mistakes; mistakes from both sides. In the end no one emerged victorious but - Real Madrid have emerged victorious with a last minute equalizer when we take the whole picture who retained their six point lead on top of the league.

Barcelona is in a middle of a season defining crisis; may be I am exaggerating a bit. But for all those Barca fans who have seen their team play in recent weeks there may be no exaggeration. For a normal top club in Europe a couple of draw shall not ring any alarm bells; but we being Barca fans are used to be worrying at the first sign of distress; so when we see what we have seen at Anoeta last week - many of us would have already broken the bell. So come Saturday, when the biggest footballing clash in universe takes place; there are enough worries to get us extremely nervous. FC Barcelona has now drawn three out of their last four games and that usually doesn't happen. May be the circumstances of each of those draws were different but the worrying part is the unwanted streak which we have picked up.

Barca looking to Bid for Oriol Romeu

- Oriol Romeu Playing in Barca Jersey -

It is far better to foresee even without certainty than not to foresee at allHenri Poincare

So much have changed for Barca this season, especially at the midfield. The midfield which was once the source of everything good at Barca have suddenly turned into a quagmire. With Iniesta's absence it has practically become non-existent; prompting questions whether it was wise to let Xavi leave rather than keeping him still the midfield transition was on-going. It wasn't anything like this last season; the trio of Rakitic, Iniesta and Busquets was solid behind the fearsome front trio. Then what changed this season - the answer is pretty simple and clear for everyone - Sergio Busquets. The Spanish midfielder, whose place in starting eleven was never a point of discussion suddenly has become the weak-link (Sergio Busquets form is Worrying Everone at Barca). Add to that the fact that Rakitic is a completely different kind of midfielder compared to Xavi; we have a practically non-existent midfield in the absence of Iniesta.

Messi Scoring the Equalizer against Real Sociedad

- Messi Scoring the Equalizer against real Soceidad -

Almost nothing went right for us today. They outdid us in the quality of their play and in attitude. We barely existed in the first half and improved a bit in the second but it’s difficult to win the league playing like this.Gerard Pique

This was nothing short of "The Great Escape" act by Houdini courtesy of the linesman. There is no other explanation of how we ended up from the trip to Anoeta with a point not with a destruction in terms of result. One may have to look at the upcoming Clasico to see whether the Great Escape Act actually helped or the gruesome experience of Yesternight has left a huge psychological scar on them. Regardless of all these with this draw Barca find themselves six points behind league leaders heading into the Clasico. Which makes that a must win game now. Usually when we fail in a match we as fans are used to holding on to any positives you could find. Hours have passed after the match I am still looking for one, the closest I got is that we had officially 47.7% of possession. For some reason as a person who watched this match; I can't get my head around that number - we barely had a possession and 47.7% of it; no way!

Messi Celebrating against Celtic

- Messi and Barca Players celebrating against Celtic at Camp Nou -

Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes.Oscar Wilde

Celtic may feel they are hard done with the timing of this clash. After the 7-0 drubbing away at Camp Nou in the first match of the group, Celtic may have been hoping for a bit easier life when Barcelona football club comes visiting. But this could be quite tricky as Barca will be attempting to correct the slip ups they had both in La Liga and UEFA Champions League. It's all stacked up against Celtic at the moment - Barca had a drubbing at the hands of Manchester City in the last match in the Group; topping the group also will be a risk if they slip up against Celtic; the slip up in La Liga this weekend would demand a perfect answer from the Catalonia side; Messi who has scored in all matches in which he has played in Europe so far, who is the leading scorer in Champions League this season, he definitely wants to continue that start and he is also frustrated not to have played in the weekend; that means he is rested, so is Luis Saurez - the odds are stacked pretty badly against Celtic.

Neymar against Malaga

FC Barcelona fell off pace once again on league leaders Real Madrid after they failed to win against Malaga at the Camp Nou. As I said in the Barca vs Malaga Match Preview, Barca had a great chance to put build up pressure on the league leaders; they failed; the result - Real Madrid have opened up a four point lead at top. Even though there is a long way to go in the season, Barca's form without Messi is a bit of concern for everyone now especially at home. Ain't that a bit strange! Watch the Highlights of this match below:

Messi Surrounded by Malaga Players

- Lionel Messi Dancing through Malaga Players -

Barcelona Futball Club would be looking to pile the pressure on Real Madrid and also Atletico Madrid when Malaga visits Camp Nou this Saturday. The clash between FC Barcelona and Malaga takes place four hours before the Madrid derby at Vicente Calderón stadium. A victory over Malaga will take Barca to the top of the League, may be temporarily; but it should put immense pressure on current league leaders who will be visiting the cross city rivals. Real Madrid who has not been exactly on fire should have enough to worry with their visit to Atlecto's stadium; we could just add to that with a good result against Malaga. As per the current La Liga odds FC Barcelona is favourite to defend their title amid not so great Home performances this season. This is mainly because other title contenders ain't igniting the stage on fire either.

Messi Celebrating Scoring against Sevilla with Luis Saurez and Neymar

Lionel Messi inspired Barca made a wonderful comeback at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium against home side Sevilla. Lionel Messi scored the equalizer after going down 1-0 early in the match and assisted the winner from Luis Saurez. The second half performance by Barca and especially Messi was one of the brilliant performance this season especially in a Stadium whcih has been a head-ache for all the team to travel for sometime. This was Sevilla's first home defeat of the season and if last season is a benchmark; that' a heck of achievement. Watch the Extended Highlights with English commentary below.

You're either part of the solution or you're part of the problem.Eldridge Cleaver

Barca's disastrous performance at the Etihad Stadium last night may be considered a one-off; definitely that's the solace their Manager holding on to. But looking back at a series of performance we may find a bigger problem hidden in all these performances. One might wonder which are those performances; especially looking at Barcelona's recent performances. But even in those tricky results and sensational performances, there were enough signs of last night's debacle waiting to happen. The explosive trio upfront had created an incredible sense of aura which makes these small crack invisible at times. The score line of 3-1 of last night may not give the apt picture; Manchester City dominated us completely for most of the game and our defense were put on relentless pressure. But for me as usual when Barca gets dominated then there is only one element which is at fault - Midfield.

Iniesta surrounded by Celta Vigo Players during FC Barcelona's defeat away from Home

Recklessness at its very best, that should be the phrase that could very accurately describe last nights' display by FC Barcelona at the Estadio de Balaídos against Celta de Vigo. The question is who was more reckless - A completely out of sync team, a non-existing midfield, a defensive midfielder who played like he is on the wrong team, a goal keeper who is finding fresh ideas to concede goals or a Manager who had no respect for the opposition. Why the respect aspect? Just rewind back what happened here last season - we were decimated even with our almost first eleven here. So when you return to a place where you were destroyed to pieces, you expect the coach to respect the danger of the opposition. Instead Luis Enrique decided to bring in Gomez and Rafinha in place of Rakitic and Iniesta. Result a shabby first half where we were pretty lucky not to have gone 5-0 down. But then the Manager alone cannot be responsible held responsible for the absolute abject recklessness of a Keeper who is considered to be good with his passing. The way he conceded the game when an almighty come back was in progress will send shivers down the management and will prompt the question even more strongly his position is first eleven.

Barcelona are currently the undisputed top team in Spain and last season were treble winners with La Liga, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España. Since Pep Guardiola took charge of the team in 2008 they have won six of the past eight La Liga titles which brings them up to 24 time winners and gradually creeping up on Real Madrid who hold the record with 32 league wins. Current boss, Luis Enrique, has won two La Liga’s, two Copa del Rey’s, one Supercopa de España, one Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup, which is a very impressive collection and not far behind Guardiola’s record.

With rumours surfacing surrounding the future of Javier Mascherano in recent weeks, Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is on the hunt for fresh defensive options this summer. Lyon’s Samuel Umtiti is the latest name to be linked with a move to the Camp Nou, and if may well not be too long until we see the Frenchman’s arrival in Spain. Despite apparent interest from Premier League duo Chelsea and Arsenal, a deal between the Spanish champions and the French side is said to be close to completion.

Tough times never last, but tough people do.Robert H. Schuller

Will this be Argentina's and Messi's Copa America? From the time the little magician appeared in football stage, A Nation has been waiting for him to take the Footballing Nation to the heights never seen since Diego Maradona has retired (Or shamefully thrown out). The Eternal hope has been the guiding light for Argentinian fans in every tournaments. They usually start each tournaments as firm favourites but never lived up to that billing. With Messi on helm they made substantial progress making into the finals of the last two competition - Copa America and World Cup. But in those two finals they somehow managed to make life tougher and eventually fail. In the World Cup they had enough chances to seal the cup long before Goetze made it fourth title for Germany. Same was the case in the last Copa final against Chile. So will they manage to succeed this time? Every football betting odds have placed them the favourite to lift Copa America 2016.

Know thy self, know thy enemy. A thousand battles, a thousand victories.Sun Tzu

For FC Barcelona it's a familiar Spanish affair waiting for them in the Quarter Final stages of this season's UEFA Champions League. Without any doubt the clash between the current table topper and second placed side La Liga sides are the most eye-catching and toughest clash of this round of Knockout Stage. Barcelona without any doubt would be full of confidence having already beaten Atletico Madrid twice in their League encounters this season. Even though both of these matches were real tough, Barca will be once again hoping that Lionel Messi, the five time Balon d'Or Winner will continue his excellent form against the second team from Capital and pull them through.

It's a very sad day for FC Barcelona football club with the passing away of Barca Legend, Johan Cryuff. In February, he tweeted about his fight with Cancer and how he felt he would overcome it. It was not meant to be. For Barca, he has been undoubtedly the Greatest Player and Coach. A look into the Clubs Character and playing style you would see his influence everywhere - even in the majority of trophies we have won in recent times. As a Barca fan, I would like to thank him for all memories and entertainment. May his Soul Rest In peace.

Mar 11, 2016

It feels like a lifetime ago since Barcelona last tasted defeat in La Liga, with the 2-1 reverse at the Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium against Sevilla in October coming at a time when Luis Enrique’s side were experiencing a minor wobble. Lionel Messi was always likely to be a big miss for us when a knee injury ruled the 2015 Ballon d’Or winner out for two months, with Barcelona enduring a poor run of two defeats in three games; an unconvincing 2-1 victory at the Nou Camp against newly-promoted Las Palmas was sandwiched in between a heavy 4-1 loss at Celta Vigo and the defeat at Sevilla.

Know thy self, know thy enemy. A thousand battles, a thousand victories.Sun Tzu

Can't belive that Arsenal and Barcelona last met in the Champions League four seasons back. This clash has been a familiar fixture in those times with both of them meeting a season before also. A lot has changed in both clubs since then. Barca went in a steep diving curve for two seasons; a diving curve by Barca’s standard but a blip by others. In terms of Coaches Arsenal still have Wenger controlling the room whereas Barca changed thrice with Luis Enrique with the help of his players creating a attacking football revolution of sort. Compared to Barca, Arsenal's success were limited but last season they finally broke that curse and secured silverware. Something Arsene Wenger recently admitted as saved his job. As per the latest champions league betting tips, Barcelona is the firm favourite to proceed further from this round but the taste of success in last season makes Arsenal a daring opponent.

This was no surprise. There was only going to be one winner; and every one knew who it would be - Lionel Messi. After watching his rival Ronaldo triumph for last two occasion, it was pretty sweet to win it again. With this award he has become the first footballer to win it five times in the history. We can write a thousand words to describe the feeling, his comeback and all. But nothing can be better than watching the video below. It's a must watch for every Messi fan.
