FC Barcelona opened up a two-point lead at the top of the league with a great 5-0 victory over Eibar aided by Real Madrid's defeat at Levante. The victory gives Barcelona a bit of cushion heading into next week's Clasico. Things have turned around quite a bit of Setién's Barcelona. The pressure was relieved a bit of now.

Once again there was a thing which could worry on display at Camp Nou. Like I have mentioned in previous matches, Barcelona players took the game lightly especially after the break. One could forgive them as a 3-0 lead at the half time allowed them to ease off a bit. For the time being let's focus on the positives from the match.

Opening up a two point lead just before the Clasico at Bernabeu is the answer to every Barcelona fans prayers. Lionel Messi stole the show as usual with a four goal five-star performance.

FC Barcelona - 5 | Eibar - 0

The biggest question in the build-up of this match was whether the 'Ball will Go In'. Everyone expected goals from Eibar, but will it come from Messi that was the big question. And he answered in quite some fashion scoring four, his fourth poker in the League, second versus Eibar. This victory along with Real Madrid's loss at Levante later opened up a two-point lead for Barcelona at the summit.

Eibar has been one of his favorite opposition scoring 20 times in eleven meetings. So this clash came at the right time when Messi was struggling to score goals but was assisting left, right and center. Currently, Messi leads the Pichichi charts having scored 18 goals and the assist chart providing 12 assists. The second-placed in both charts is five goals away from him.

Lionel Messi secured another solid victory for Barcelona against Eibar scoring four in a 5-0 victory. The other goal came from Arthur. Braithwaite, Barcelona's new signing made a huge impact playing a critical role in Barcelona's last two goals. It was a dream debut for the Dani International.

Barcelona's 2-1 victory over third placed Getafe at Camp Nou raise more questions than answers for Quique Setién.

Barcelona's hard-won victory against third-placed Getafe proved to be extremely vital in the grand scheme of things. With Real Madrid dropping points last night, Barcelona clearly has the destiny of La Liga in their hands. A huge step will be to defeat Real Madrid when they meet in two weeks' time.

Once again, like last week this was a hard-fought match. Barcelona should thank Ter Stegan for guaranteeing the three points. In the end, Setién has too many things to worry about than take comfort after the victory against Getafe.

With almost everyone on the backline in danger of missing out, Quique Setién is struggling to find players to make the starting eleven. There is a good chance that we may have a central defense of Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto. That would be some setup!

When I wrote a week ago about Barcelona's struggle with squad, I never anticipated all my fears coming to fruit so soon. As we feared, Barcelona is currently struggling to find players to fill the backline of their defense when third-placed Getafe arrives at Camp Nou on Saturday.

Getafe arrives at the Camp Nou on the backdrop of four consecutive victories, that too against good teams. Last week they defeated Valencia 3-0 and a week before they won against Athletic away from home. We all remember how our latest matches with these teams went!

Barcelona came from beind twice to secure vital three points against Real Betis, what incidentally is the first away win under Setién in the League.

Real Betis - 2 | FC Barcelona - 3

This was an emotional affair on so many levels. First, there was this Manager who is making a visit to the place where he made the real mark, then there is a host of ex-Barcelona players, some sold out and some on loan and finally there is the stadium, which for the Catalan side is nothing short of a bull ring! This was bound to be messy, and so it was.

In the end, Setién would be a relieved man, having secured the three points which keep his team on the heels of arch-rival Real Madrid. Barcelona needed to come back from behind twice in the match. The goals came from pretty much unlikely sources - De Jong, Busquets and Lenglet; assisted by the usual suspect Lionel Messi.

FC Barcelona came back from behind twice to secure their first away victory under Quique Setien in the League. This victory was vital as it keeps them with the reachable distance of League leaders Real Madrid. Lenglet scored the winner for Barcelona from a towering header.

The very fact that it was the youngest member for the eleven who secured this victory for Barcelona gives a lot of hope for Barcelona for the future under Setién. With a solid victory, which wasn't devoid of issues, Barcelona remained on the heels of league leaders Real Madrid.

Ansu Fati Brace Secures Barcelona an Essential Victory that inspires Hope #AnsuFati #FCBarcelona

FC Barcelona - 2 | Levante - 1

Barcelona kept their pursuit of league leaders Real Madrid with a not so spectacular 2-1 victory over Levante at the Camp Nou. Ansu Fati, the young start from Barcelona B scored twice in the first half to secure Barcelona's victory. Levante scored a late consolation in the injury time through Rochen, which was clearly justified for their efforts of the second half.

Ansu Fati scored both his goals from Lionel Messi assists. Even though Messi was instrumental in creating the chances, the finishing from the youngster showed why he is rated so high in footballing circles.

Ansu Fati's two first-half goals gave Barcelona a vital victory at the Camp Nou tonight. This victory keeps them on the heels of the League Leaders Real Madrid. Lionel Messi created both the goals for the youngster, who was magnificent with his finishes.

For Valencia it was fifth time lucky, after failing to defeat Barcelona in the previous five attempts in the League. In spite of Valencia playing brilliantly, these factors most contributed to Barcelona's downfall.

Many are still digesting the non-tasty defat of Barcelona last night. What makes it worse was the fact that Barcelona struggled to break down the defense, having to play a lot of horizontal passes. The possession statistic looks good, but the lack of end result makes the picture bleak.

It's not yet time to panic at the last two performances of Barcelona. The new coach needs a bit of time to set things right and also to get his team to understand his plans fully. It's easy to criticize the team and coach and deride them in general. A close look at the match clearly shows that not everything is bad about last night's performance. There were three major factors that contributed to such a bad result.

Quique Setién faced his first defeat as the Barcelona Manager and if things don't improve, may not be the last one. He has some tough questions to solve to fix this team.

FC Barcelona were handed a footballing masterclass by Valencia in being efficient and finding the chinks in the opponent's armor. This was done despite Barcelona hogging more than 70% of possession, the only positive from the match at the Mestalla.

Some may argue that what is the purpose of having so much possession if you are not going to make any changes. These so-called, fans aka Valeverde fan boys don't have a clue about how bad Barcelona have become. It will take an almighty effort for Setiénto fix this and there will be early hickups.

Quique Setién was handed his first defeat as Barcelona coach at the Mestalla against Valencia. His side went 2-0 down to a Valencia side who despite the lack of possession was decisive and rarely troubled. Two goals from Maxi Gomez were good enough for the victory, who hasn't managed to win against the Catalan side for the last seven encounters in the league.

Don't be fooled by the narrow scoreline of the victory, this match's showcased why it is premature to write the obituaries for this Barcelona side. They returned back to their identity and looked solid, even though the Coach has a lot of work left.

Quique Setién Era Starts with a Solid Victory over Granada

Hope, that was what one looking for at the beginning of the match. And we definitely found that. People tend to get fooled by the 1-0 scoreline, don't be. This match was much more than the 1-0 scoreline, it was a reaffirmation that this Barcelona side is far from finished, they can look solid, they can be spectacular but above all, they still can bring joy to football fans with every move.

This was a match where many of us, the die-hard fans who were clamoring for returning back to basics feel vindicated. This was the Old Barcelona at least in possession. I don't think even in heydays under Guardiola we never had 82% possession. And there is a matter of 1005 passes put attempted.

FC Barcelona - 1 | Granada - 0

FC Barcelona kick-started the Setién era with a promising 1-0 victory over Granada at the Camp Nou. Don't be fooled by the narrow scoreline. The impact of this game was huge especially the way we played, kept possession and pressed. Literally, this was the old Barcelona back in action.

This match was no different than any of the recent away outings under Valverde, boring, uninspiring and just managing to scrape through; only due to the kind of talents under disposition.

Barca - 2 | Leganes - 1

When mediocrity becomes the way of life, this kind of display becomes an unbelievably satisfying affair, at least for the stupid management we have got. Some may call this an extremely lucky result, but I beg to differ. We should distinguish between the boring display and extremely lucky nights. Lucky ones are those nights when we end up wondering how on earth we are not lost that, and usually we see one man standing there - Ter Stegan.

This was a different feeling. At the end of the match, we simply wonder how we won that. But then this has been a regular feeling with Barcelona lately. It's just we managed to scrape through. In any other season, we would have said such victories win us the league. But then in this season, this has been the standard way of business.

Barca vs Levante Full Match Highlights | Barca - 3, Levante - 1

FC Barcelona lost once again away from home, something which we expect every time we step out of Barcelona. In a span of seven minutes, Barcelona lost a 1-0 first-half lead, to lose 3-1.

I can't say enjoy highlights, but do watch the highlights below:

Barcelona produced another 'Valverde Masterclass' last night against Levante going down 3-1 in a clueless display. This doesn't come as a big surprise, and this display clearly shows that this won't be the last one either!

Barcelona Stoops to New Low under Valverde. And It shows no Sign of Stopping

We may have to define a term called 'Valverde Masterclass' in order to describe what is on display currently at Barcelona. That makes it easy to define rather than writing sentences after sentences. Mention 'Valverde Masterclass' and everyone gets it. That term should by now mean clearly 'Disaster in Defense, and Clueless in Attack'. At least it will make life easier for everyone like us describing this ordeal!

To describe this match is pretty is easy. We have seen this movie again and again under Valverde. The problem this season is the frequency of this show. It's been happening so frequently that we simply couldn't take a moment off. And it shows no sign of stopping. Also, Valverde has no clue in stopping this!

FC Barcelona - 5 | Real Valladolid - 1

Nothing much to say here, Messi came, Messi scored, Messi created, case closed. It's that simple, isn't it? Many Messi fans were worried whether he has fallen far behind in the Goal scoring charts. Now it shows that for Messi no chart is far behind! He created two goals, scored two one of them was an exceptional free-kick and did a lot of other things. Vidal, Saurez, and Lenglet joined Messi on the score sheet to take Barcelona back to the top of the league.

Lionel Messi produced a masterclass act scoring his 50th Career hattrick and assisting the other in a hard-fought victory against Sevilla.

MESSI saves BARCELONA with an Out of the World Performance #Barca #Messi #BarcaSevilla

Barca - 4 | Sevilla - 2 ( Messi - 4 | Sevilla - 2 )

In the end, this battle was all about one man, Lionel Messi. And that's a familiar feel for Sevilla fans as they are his favorite opponents. We have lost count of the number of times Lionel Messi has become the tormentor for Sevilla - even at the Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

In reality, Barcelona didn't do much to win this match, apart from having the World's Best Player; or the fifth Best player as per FIFA. Sevilla was the better team throughout the match, especially in the first half. But then Barcelona had Messi and that decided everything!
