It's Lyon! Barcelona to Face French Side in Champions League.

The Wait is over, it's Olympique Lyonnais whom Barcelona Football Club will face in the first knockout round of Champions League 2018-19 season. Even though Schalke was my preferred opposition, Lyon is not a bad opponent to face at this stage. Barcelona unless screws things seriously, they are highly rated to go through the next round.

Lyon currently lies third in the Ligue 1, almost 13 points adrift of the League leaders PSG. The first leg will be held on the 19th of February in Lyon. Barcelona has the advantage of playing the second leg at home, on the 13th of March.

Sensational Performance from the Argentinian Maestro, Lionel Messi helped Barca to extract revenge for last season's heart-breaking defeat at Levante

Sensational Lionel Messi destroys Levante with an Out of the World Performance

Lionel Messi answered those idiots who rated him as the fifth best player in the World, like he has always done - ON THE FIELD. The Argentinian, who as per one Brazilian legend is a 'One Thing Guys, who scores only with his Left Foot', ended up scoring a hat-trick and assiting the other two goals in a glorious night for Barcelona. Courtesy of this victory, Barcelona has opened once again a three point lead at the top of the league.

The victory becomes extremely important as in the past two weeks, Messi has shown all the signs of hitting the top form soon. We need him to be in full form before we break for the winter, which will be following next week's matches. Had Saurez not scuffled an easier finish, Messi would have ended the night with three assists and three goals; not sure whether we have seen anyone in the history of the game doing that!

Barca vs Levante Full Match Highlights | Barca - 5 , Levante - 0

FC Barcelona produced sensational attacking football to avenge for last season's 5-4 defeat at Levante this season, by a margin of 5-0. Lionel Messi scored three and assited the other two, on a night Barcelona went back to top of the league.

With Final 16 Teams known, all the focus shift to Who will be Barca's Opponent when the Draw is done on the 17th.

Champions League Knock-Out Draw, it's Here. Who is the most attractive Opponent?

Some times this is the most frustrating part of Champions League Process, the wait. Barcelona FC has topped their group and we all know the rest of the teams which have qualified. But still have to wait till Monday to know whom we will face in the next round of Champions League.

What it makes it so frustrating is that when the entire focus is on this, we still need to focus and play against Levante on Sunday. Not much of an issue for our players, but for fans, Champions League will be always in the back of our mind. Till a few seasons ago, UEFA used to complete the draw in the very next Friday; now it appears this way they can build the anticipation and make more money, I guess.

FC Barcelona moved back to the top of the League after the victory against Villareal at the Camp Nou. Gerard Pique put Barca in front in the first half. Carles Alena completed the scoreline after scoring his first La Liga goal at Camp Nou.

Catch the Highlights below:

FC Barcelona Secured a Hard-fought 2-0 victory over Villareal at the Camp Nou. But t the three points should not mask the Problems within Barcelona Football Club.

FC Barcelona - 2 | Villareal - 0

Barcelona regained the top spot in La Liga last night with a very tough and uncharacteristic 2-0 victory over Villareal at the Camp Nou. May be defining it as uncharacteristic masks the reality; we have been playing more or less the same way for majority of this season, barring a wonderful two week stretch. In yet another see-saw weekend, Barcelona was able to snatch the top spot from Sevilla after Alaves held Sevilla to a draw.

Saying Alaves held Sevilla to a draw is unfair on Alaves, but still, Sevilla is always the better side. Such has been this season, where the bigger teams have been struggling with their performances and average sides have been punching above their weight. This week was no exception, Real Madrid and Barcelona won but wasn't any convincing; Atletico and Sevilla were held to draw and they weren't convincing either.
