Lionel Messi pipped Lewandowski to win the 2021 Ballon d'Or, his 7th Ballon d'Or overall. Messi managed this feat on the back of a great triumph in the Copa America Tournament.

Barcelona Legend and Ex-Barcelona Player, Lionel Messi secured the 2021 Ballon d'Or ahead of Robert Lewandowski. In the voting, Lionel Messi secured 613 points, 33 points ahead of second-placed Lewandowski who secured 580 points. Lionel Messi's crowning comes at the back of this summer's Copa America triumph where he was a Champion, Highest Goal Scorer and Highest Assist creator.

Alexia Putellas Wins Women's Ballon D'Or

For FC Barcelona, the Ballon D'Or has arrived once again at Camp Nou. This time it's our Femini Captain Alexia Putellas who brought the Award to our home. As everyone expected, Alexia Putellas won the Woman's Ballon D'Or award for 2021. This was not any surprise after she lead Barcelona to a treble last season and now continues destroying any team which gets in front of them.

The speculation of Lione Messi leaving Barcelona in search of a new challenge became a reality during this transfer window. The talismanic Argentinian eventually departed the Nou Camp for Paris St Germain.

The move signaled the end of a glittering career for Messi at Barcelona. He left the Catalan club with 10 La Liga winners medals, seven Copa Del Rey titles and four Champions Leagues spanning nearly 800 appearances.

Once the dust settles down, we all will realize that Lionel Messi was sacrificed by Laporta for the chance to participate in the European Super League. Something which has become 'Dead on Arrival'. What does Perez have on Laporta which makes him a virtual slave?

It appears nothing has truly changed in Barcelona. The unceremonious exit of Lionel Messi, or more aptly put failure to sign him shows that the club is still managed by the same incompetent team. The spin masters at Barcelona haven't left, they just changed their loyalty to the master.

More the details emerge out in the upcoming days, the spin masters at Barcelona will struggle to hide the truth from plain sight. Their attempt to put the entire blame on La Liga and Tebas has already started to unfurl badly.

I offered to reduce my contract by 50% and they asked for nothing else. A lot of what people are saying is not true. We did everything we could and it wasn’t possible.

Announcing the end of an Era at Barcelona, his time at Barcelona, Lionel Messi couldn't hold back the tears. Lionel Messi, the Greatest Player in the history of FC Barcelona broke down throughout the farewell speech. The entire episode was a confirmation of what we knew beforehand - Lionel Messi was shocked and devastated by the Club's announcement.

It was an emotional ride for not only the player and his family but for the millions of fans who suffered throughout the press conference. It's not easy to witness your idol break down in front of you like this.

This is no way to handle the exit of the Greatest Player who featured for Barcelona. But then coming to Messi, the Club has got a lot wrong than right in recent years.

Barcelona fans across the Globe is slowly coming to terms with the ultimate reality which was thrown at their face on Thursday night. We have been all going through the five stages of acceptance - denial, anger, depression, bargaining, and acceptance. I am pretty sure I am endlessly stuck in a loop that takes me back to denial and then whole up to bargaining. Like many of us, I am hoping for a miracle that says that this was done to only put pressure on Tebas, but Messi will stay!

The way it was broken felt like a classic play on poker table. This looked absolutely like a move to put pressure on Tebas to allow leverage with the salary cap. Everyone o thought that. That was the reason not even a single team raised an attempt of signing Messi. That all changed with Laporta's press conference.

Lionel Messi has provided Barcelona with a massive boost by committing his future to the club and taking a significant pay cut to ease their financial woes. The Argentine was out of contract at the end of June, and Barca’s financial issues left his tenure at Camp Nou in doubt. However, Messi agreed to take a 50% reduction on his contract to secure a five-year deal with the Catalonian club.

Barca is undergoing a rebuild of their squad due to their problems off the field. Junior Firpo, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Matheus Fernandes have all been allowed to leave in a desperate bid to balance the books, while further departures are to be expected. Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia, and Memphis Depay have all been added to the squad on free transfers, highlighting how prudent Barca has become in the transfer market.

As Lionel Messi said in his post-match press-bite, they would have loved to start the opening match with a victory but still it's not a bad result. A draw against Chile in the opener of the Tournament is a good result, considering that you gifted the equalizing goal to your opponent.

Lionel Messi produced a brilliant piece of magic just after the half-an-hour mark to give Argentina a deserving lead. Argentina should be disappointed after wasting a lot of chances, especially Nicolas Gonzalez, who wasted a lot of chances. In a very tight match against an organised Chilean defence, Argentina could only manage to convert one of their many shots on target. That would be something to work out for Messi and boys.

Cryuff would be turning over in his grave with the recently announced plan of Barcelona and another 11 clubs to form a European Super League. The idea itself runs against the core belief which the Club has held dearly over the years. Is there anyone who could get Barcelona out of this Self-Destructing path?

In one stroke of the pen, Barcelona once again erased everything they ever stood for in its amazing history of all these years. Those beliefs and ideals saw their Club presidents being tortured, their fan base ridiculed and also all those unfair treatments from the ones with power and money. It was as if none of them matter, if anything genuinely was left out of that motto 'Mès Que un club', then it was the time to erase that too. It was unfortunately the time of the European Super League.

For all those fans, who genuinely believed that Barcelona will at least attempt to get back to its roots after Laporta victory, the hopes were mercilessly squashed. Laporta who before the election preached against the concept of Super League, joyfully accepted and dragged Barcelona into the messy setup. This is not the Barcelona we Know.

Lionel Messi was in sensational form against Heusca at home, something which has been a regularity in 2021. His two goals and one assiste helped Barcelona closed the gap at top to 4 points. With only four points adrift, we could all say 'There is a League'!

Enjoy this beutiful video of Lionel Messi in action against Huesca below:

Despite Bartomeu's attempt to distance himself from the leaking of Messi's contract to El Mundo journalist, everyone knows that he and Tusquets are behind it. The Catalan People don't want Messi around and it may be time for Messi to move away from Barcelona, the Club and the City.

Lionel Messi did what he does the best, answer his critics on the pitch. So it was natural to see Messi making the statement with a brilliant free kick on the Camp Nou pitch. That free-kick was some kind of a legend's stuff, there was one person lying on the ground, a fully packed wall, and a man on the line; in case he breaches all those defences. Breach he did, he had to.

But the build-up to the game was some of the toughest he had to face so far this season. He was hurt more or less about the manner in which the leak was made and the way it was portrayed, rather than the leak itself. The financials were never supposed to be fully secret, it will leak at some point. Especially if he leaves.

With turn of the new year, Lionel Messi has come back to his usual self scoring goals and terrorizing opposition. Let's take a look at what went right for Barcelona's captain so suddenly.

It all starts to come back slowly, atleast for Lionel Messi. The turn of New Year has brought a new Lionel Messi, who is sudddenly once again the greatest player on earth. He currently leads the La Liga scoring charts, in a season which is considered his worst ever!

Barcelona still is a long way away from making a legitimate challenge for League, but if Messi has unleashed himself, we all could dream. But what happened so suddenly that we see a different Lionel Messi.

Ungrateful Barcelona fans have been questioning Messi's performance so far this season. If what we saw against Real Madrid is an indication, he is all set to kick these doubters behind in coming weeks!

Is Lionel Messi back to his Best?

The more you listen to those half-informed Barcelona fans and Messi doubters on Twitter, you get convinced with every single post that these fans don't deserve him. They can't even see the impact he brings into the team as they can't think straight anything other than some random stats.

So we are told that Messi had a poor night against Real Madrid as he once again failed to get into the goal-scoring chart. And to make matters worse, he was neither in those assist charts. One cannot argue with dim-witted fools because they don't understand the beautiful games. How can you make these fools understand that without Messi's ball there was no equalizer? What Fati and Alba did from then was a mere formality. But they never understand!

Sevilla exposed the folly of limiting Lionel Messi in a false-9 role! Is practically possible to use the false-9 role in the 4-2-3-1 formation, Koeman's preferred choice?

Why Messi as False-9 Experiment should Stop Immediately!

So it all went back to square one for Barcelona, once again! The Euphoria of the Koeman fanboys on the social media lasted two matches, exactly two matches. Now it's been replaced by self-doubts across the internet. The match at times resembled how Barcelona played under Valverde, and that's making a lot of people nervous.

Still, the Koeman fanboys are full out in support. They understand that the match presented serious questions about the Dutchman's tactical acumen, but none of it matters. Right now, they are going after their favourite scapegoat - Lionel Messi. As I explained earlier, even if Messi was the one creating any kind of move, he will be always be blamed this season.

Koeman's biggest problem could effectively integrating Francisco Trincão to play efficiently with Lionel Messi, Barcelona's Captain. It may seem so simple, but we have seen how players struggled earlier! Will it happen again?

Francisco Trincão entertained all in Barcelona's first outing of the 2020-21 season. Even though the opposition was a below-average side, and we should refrain from going euphoric about that display; even then Barcelona fans were quite impressed by what they saw of Francisco Trincão.

The second half display was quite brilliant, especially if we compare with the first-half display. The second half had the young and the new kids, and that was the difference-maker. But the brightest spot was Trincão.

With Lionel Messi staying back at the Club, the majority of the Cules are relieved. Relieved that this extended saga, that threatened to upend the season is finally over. Relieved that the World's Best Player will be there for at least one more season. The key is the word 'at-least'!

The announcement also rekindled the hope of maybe seeing Messi play out his career at Barcelona. The dream of every Barcelona fan would be to see their captain renew for another two more years. We still need to wait to see how that hope will churn out!

Even though Messi can claim the higher ground, when the dust settles the winner will emerge from the opposite end, and unfortunately it is Bartomeu.

In the end, the only one who will stand alone when the dust settles would be Lionel Messi, the Argentinian Maestro. His supporters may claim how Messi handled a very tricky situation, with a targetted attack on the board and clearly explaining his decision to stay back at the club.

But when it all ends, this will be once again remembered as another moment where Messi failed to stand up and fight when the going got tough. That's always an accusation even those who loved him regularly levels against him. The current situation is not going to look favorable when viewed through that angle.

Sep 2, 2020

Catalan media is painting a picture favorable for Bartomeu in the whole saga, but they know that Messi holds all the card. His silence is killing them.

So what we have learned so far - Messi and his camp believe that he is no longer a Barcelona player, Messi wants to go from Barcelona with amicable terms, Bartomeu doesn't want anything of it, He wants Messi to renew the contract.

One thing is clear whether he likes it or not, Messi is gone for good. If the court does not allow him to leave Barcelona, there is a high chance of him retiring from football than continue playing at Barcelona. Then as he did with Argentina, he will make a come back from retirement in the winter transfer window. Not a bad option for Manchester City!

Aug 28, 2020

Lionel Messi should insist on leaving Barcelona for free as mentioned in his exit clause. That will be a huge favor he will be doing for his old club as well as his new club.

All signs show that 'Messi-Exit' saga is only in his initial stages. The entire Globe including social media and the footballing clubs are in a stage of shock. Many of the active Pursuiter is struggling to make out whether this is all a political circus or an active interest of 'The GOAT' to move away.

No one wants to end up looking stupid. It's normal, and that's why no club is showing a clear public interest in the pursuit. Behind the scenes, everyone is making contact. The silence surrounding the Messi entourage makes this entire episode more intriguing!

Aug 26, 2020

Lionel Messi's impending departure has made the already chaotic situation of the Club even worse. Even if he is forced to stay, this will indefinitely damage the Club beyond repair.

A great love story which started with a Paper napkin, is ending more bizarrely, with another piece of paper - burofax. It appears that the term will be added soon to the famous English dictionaries! The burofax which Messi sent to express his desire to leave the club for free, has hurled Chaos in Barcelona. The Socios and their leaders appear to be unmoved, but fans across the World are terrified even thinking about it.

As we stand we are hearing too many versions leaked from the Club. One version says, that the Club has reminded him of his release clause of 700 Million and he is still a Barcelona fan. Another version says that the Club sent a reply saying that they want him to continue, and complete the career in Barcelona!

Lionel Messi Gifs against Bayern Munich

With the Bayern encounter just around the corner, this will definitely calm down a lot of nerves and instill hope among Barcelona fans. The situations could be different, but Messi remains the same and will be a handful come Friday.

Lionel Messi single-handedly destroyed Bayern that night, and if they come with full-on arrogance, he could make them pay again!
