Santiago Bernebeu has been one of Barcelona's most favorite away Stadium to visit in the recent past. Barcelona is in a four-match winning streak in the visits. Will Barcelona be able to make it five in a row?
There is so much at stake when Barcelona visit Santiago Bernebeu on the First Sunday of 2020 March. The destiny of the League could very well be defined by the end of the match. At least we will get a picture of who will be having the advantage of going forward. A victory for both teams is vital as La Liga is decided in the end by head-on head record if the two teams are tied on points!
Statistically both teams are currently tied at 72 wins each in El Clasico matches. So there is a small point of which set of fans gets to brag more about being ahead in head-on head clashes. So there is more at stake here for everyone involved.
Will Barcelona Continue their Good Form at Santiago Bernebeu?
In recent times, there was a lot of memorable visit to the Spanish Capital for the Catalan side. Will we be able to continue the same. The last meeting of Barcelona and Real Madrid in December ended in the first goalless draw in some eleven years. And the form of both teams hasn't improved much since then. We could be in for one more boring draw on Sunday also!
This week has been a week of lots of first for the new Barcelona coach. He managed the team for the first time in a UEFA Champions League match in midweek. Now he gets his chance to feature in the first Clasico of his career. He will be hoping for a better result on Sunday, or at least a better performance.
Barcelona has been raking up some good result in the League in the last few matches. The Eibar one saw even Messi breaking his mini-goal drought. That's not good news for the Los Blancos as he has a habit of scoring generously at Santiago Bernebeu. So Barcelona is in prime form getting into this game, unlike when they met last time in December.
In contrast, Real Madrid comes into this game with a bit of crisis. In the last five matches, they managed to only win once and lost thrice, the latest being the home defeat against Manchester City. Their last league match saw them going down to one goal against Levante, thereby giving up the lead on top and allowing Barcelona to open a two-goal lead. A few weeks back, Barcelona was desperately trying to stay on the heels of Real Madrid!
