Ernesto Valverde terrible rein at Barcelona could be coming to end by the January 13th of 2020; that would be a huge New Year present for Barcelona fans across the world.
Following Barcelona's not so surprising exit from Super Copa in Saudi Arabia, there are usual rumors of the impending sacking of Valverde. Those rumors have been received as God Send by the fans especially in social media and without much effort have gone viral.
Everyone now expects the sacking to be confirmed by the Board when they meet for their board meeting on Monday, 13th of January 2020. Many media outlets in Spain is reporting the same and for some reason, this time around this seems to be a possibility.
Will This be Too Good to be True?
I would advise that we exercise caution in our celebrations. The rumors appear to be much more solid this time around, but remember we are talking of a Board which did nothing following Roma, Liverpool, and Valencia debacles. To make matters worse, some of the players have come out in open supporting the Coach. He guarantees many of them starting positions and huge sum of salaries. For them whatever he does will be beneficial.
Another is the problem of the successor. We cannot have anyone from the supporting staffs and most of the good candidate is tied up with another club, at least till the end of the season. So an interim managerial candidate would be far from exciting. Barcelona could still go for someone who is not exactly wanted. But then changing him later in summer will become problematic.
