Strange things happen in Football, not one many, many times. So I would say that Barca still have a glimmer hope of retaining their La Liga crown coming next week. But whatever small hope Barca have about La Liga could be decided at the end of next week. As of now, Atletico Madrid stands six point clear of Real Madrid(who have a game in hand) and four point clear of Barcelona. The equation is simple - if Atletico does not drop any point in the next three outings, the League title is theirs for the taking. The last match of the season will be only for crowning. But with some high profile matches coming this week, Atletico may have a chance of dropping some points, something every Barca fan is hoping for.

The matches left for Barca this season are Villareal away from home, Getafe at home, Elche away and Atletico Madrid at home. Going by the current form we have a better chance of dropping points against Villareal than any of our rivals. But for the sake of hope, I am hoping that we are able to get the job done. Atletico Madrid has the worst of the fixture among the top three. Their Champions League match against Chelsea is sandwiched between two visits to Valencia - first to Mestella this weekend and the the match against Levante next weekend. If they are not careful, like Barca Atletico face the huge danger of losing all the season's hard work in a matter of a week. The rest two matches of the season are against Malaga and Barcelona. But one could safely say that if they come out of their visit to Valencia with the three point lead at the top, the crown is all theirs.

Meanwhile Real Madrid who is quietly pursuing the La Liga title have a mixed firxtures, which is made complicated by some really messy scheduling. The match between Bayern Munich takes all the important in their quest for "La Decima". But in betweeen that they have Osasuna and Valencia visiting them. Of the two Madrid teams, Real has the better fixture list as most of their matches will be held at the Santiago Bernebeu. Their only away visit is to Celta which won't be not so difficult for the star studded Madrid side. Real madrid could still emerge as the winner if Diego Simeone's team lets off the intensity in this week. Without an doubt the La Liga title will be decided this coming weekend.
