With rumours surfacing surrounding the future of Javier Mascherano in recent weeks, Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is on the hunt for fresh defensive options this summer. Lyon’s Samuel Umtiti is the latest name to be linked with a move to the Camp Nou, and if may well not be too long until we see the Frenchman’s arrival in Spain. Despite apparent interest from Premier League duo Chelsea and Arsenal, a deal between the Spanish champions and the French side is said to be close to completion.

Tough times never last, but tough people do.Robert H. Schuller

Will this be Argentina's and Messi's Copa America? From the time the little magician appeared in football stage, A Nation has been waiting for him to take the Footballing Nation to the heights never seen since Diego Maradona has retired (Or shamefully thrown out). The Eternal hope has been the guiding light for Argentinian fans in every tournaments. They usually start each tournaments as firm favourites but never lived up to that billing. With Messi on helm they made substantial progress making into the finals of the last two competition - Copa America and World Cup. But in those two finals they somehow managed to make life tougher and eventually fail. In the World Cup they had enough chances to seal the cup long before Goetze made it fourth title for Germany. Same was the case in the last Copa final against Chile. So will they manage to succeed this time? Every football betting odds have placed them the favourite to lift Copa America 2016.

For FC Barcelona it's a familiar Spanish affair waiting for them in the Quarter Final stages of this season's UEFA Champions League. Without any doubt the clash between the current table topper and second placed side La Liga sides are the most eye-catching and toughest clash of this round of Knockout Stage. Barcelona without any doubt would be full of confidence having already beaten Atletico Madrid twice in their League encounters this season. Even though both of these matches were real tough, Barca will be once again hoping that Lionel Messi, the five time Balon d'Or Winner will continue his excellent form against the second team from Capital and pull them through.

It's a very sad day for FC Barcelona football club with the passing away of Barca Legend, Johan Cryuff. In February, he tweeted about his fight with Cancer and how he felt he would overcome it. It was not meant to be. For Barca, he has been undoubtedly the Greatest Player and Coach. A look into the Clubs Character and playing style you would see his influence everywhere - even in the majority of trophies we have won in recent times. As a Barca fan, I would like to thank him for all memories and entertainment. May his Soul Rest In peace.

It feels like a lifetime ago since Barcelona last tasted defeat in La Liga, with the 2-1 reverse at the Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium against Sevilla in October coming at a time when Luis Enrique’s side were experiencing a minor wobble. Lionel Messi was always likely to be a big miss for us when a knee injury ruled the 2015 Ballon d’Or winner out for two months, with Barcelona enduring a poor run of two defeats in three games; an unconvincing 2-1 victory at the Nou Camp against newly-promoted Las Palmas was sandwiched in between a heavy 4-1 loss at Celta Vigo and the defeat at Sevilla.

Can't belive that Arsenal and Barcelona last met in the Champions League four seasons back. This clash has been a familiar fixture in those times with both of them meeting a season before also. A lot has changed in both clubs since then. Barca went in a steep diving curve for two seasons; a diving curve by Barca’s standard but a blip by others. In terms of Coaches Arsenal still have Wenger controlling the room whereas Barca changed thrice with Luis Enrique with the help of his players creating a attacking football revolution of sort. Compared to Barca, Arsenal's success were limited but last season they finally broke that curse and secured silverware. Something Arsene Wenger recently admitted as saved his job. As per the latest champions league betting tips, Barcelona is the firm favourite to proceed further from this round but the taste of success in last season makes Arsenal a daring opponent.

This was no surprise. There was only going to be one winner; and every one knew who it would be - Lionel Messi. After watching his rival Ronaldo triumph for last two occasion, it was pretty sweet to win it again. With this award he has become the first footballer to win it five times in the history. We can write a thousand words to describe the feeling, his comeback and all. But nothing can be better than watching the video below. It's a must watch for every Messi fan.

FC Barcelona more or less made sure of a Quarter Final Position with a 4-1 demolition of Espanyol at home. In a fiery clash both in terms of football and physical presence, Barcelona stood well and truly above their next door neighbor. Lionel Messi was in sensational form scoring two goals and creating the other two. Enjoy the extended highlight video below.

As I wrote in the preview, this Club World Cup more or less was the emergence of Luis Saurez as one of the leaders of the current Barca side. Till this competition, he was more or less the lesser one of the great attacking trio. But the Uruguayan's performance showed that he still is very much the World's best striker, exactly as he shown earlier with Liverpool and Ajax. If it was not for Lionel Messi and Neymar, his partners in crime; he would definitely would have considered as the "Best Player fo the Game at the Moment". We have seen his Game Winner style earlier, but this tournament showed that he could emerge as a true leader to this outstanding footballing side. With Messi and Neymar around he may not be the No.1 player (that would be always Messi) but he knows that together with them he present something outstanding to the World; Luckily for him both Messi and Neymar also have recognised it.

Luis Saurez unexpectedly found himself taking center stage at the Club World Cup in Japan. The absence of both Lionel Messi and Neymar leaves Luis Saurez leading the line at the Club World Cup. The availability of both Messi and Neymar for final on Sunday is still in doubt and that means Luis Saurez may have to alone lead the attack. The other strike options available currently in Barca Club World Cup squad doesn't inspire confidence. Both Munir and Sandro may have great futures ahead of them but lately they both, especially Munir has been specialising in missing open chances more than anything. Even without Messi and Neymar, Barcelona is still the favourite to win the title as per the form ('it's a bet based on the team's form')

Apart from the jaw dropping thumping displayed by Barca players at the Santiago Bernebeu, this season's first Clasico delivered an even greater joy to fans - the return of Lionel Messi. After his return, he has already played two full matches - scoring three goals and assisting one. His hunger is mostly understandable especially when you return to action after almost a two month break. There also is a matter of personal pride, especially with Neymar and Saurez guiding the team brilliantly in his absence. Some people, mostly critics questioned whether Messi's return could complicate things for Barca and Luis Enrique. Messi in the last two matches defined why his return will elevate the team to another level and also showed that class which separated him from a brilliantly performing Neymar and Saurez.

Barcelona's 4-0 victory over Real madrid seen across Newspapers of the World.

  • FC Barcelona produced a sensational display at the Bernabeu tearing apart Real Madrid.
  • Luis Enrique, Neymar and Iniesta scored all the goals for Barcelona..
The solution often turns out more beautiful than the puzzle. Richard Dawkins

Barcelona Futbol Club produced something spectacular last night to destroy Real Madrid at their home Santiago Bernabeu. The scoreline 4-0 never gave an accurate picture of the gulf between two sides on the night. Had all the easy chances been taken, we could have seen a scoreine of 8-2 or something. That how superior Barca was on the night. On a night when Barca's midfield were in total control, two goals from Luis Saurez and each one from Neymar and Iniesta completed the scoreline. Real Madrid produced a late surge after going down 3-0 but Barca's keeper Bravo was in spectacular form denying every chance of Real Madrid. Barca's "Man of the Match" without any doubt was Andres Iniesta, who was given a rare ovation by a lot of Real Madrid faithfuls; something which was never expected taking in to account the bad vibes between the two sides in recent meetings.

It was nothing less of an exhibition at the Santiago Bernebeu by Luis Enrique's men. Enjoy the full match highlights from FC Barcelona's 4-0 thrashing of Real Madrid at their own stomping yard.

  • FC Barcelona goes into the Away La Liga Clasico with a three point lead on top of the table.
  • Lionel Messi's availability is the most discussed topic building into this Clasico. Which is no Surprise!!!

Neymar and Saurez should be really angry! Or at least they have the right to be. In the absence of the "Best Player in the World", they have created a remarkable turn around in spectacular fashion. When we lost Messi to injury, we were still in top three, but that was due to others slipping. Without Messi Neymar and Saurez have taken the lead scoring spectacular goals; or better put they themselves have emerged partly out of Messi's shadows; I would say. So coming in to the Clasico; it should have been how the duo of Neymar and Saurez is going to take Real Madrid apart. Instead we are back to where we all start at the beginning of every Clasico - Messi's effect on the game. So almost all the discussion has been about whether Messi will be available to take on the arch-rival at the Santiago Bernebeu. The availability of Lionel Messi would swing the match in Barca's favour based on the latest football betting tips.

FC Barcelona went to the top of the League ahead of the upcoming Clasico with a gritty and spectacular victory against Villarreal at the Camp Nou. Neymar scored twice and Saurez once to make it a very memorable night for the team in the Blaugrana stripes. Neymar's second was an absolute gem and reminded the Barca legend Ronaldinho in many ways. With Real Madrid losing at Sevilla, Barca has opened a three point lead which would be very handy when we visit the Santiago Bernebeu in two weeks time.
