David Villa against Villareal

As I said in my last post, this is going to be the most vital game of this season. Its all about not conceding any ground to Real Madrid before meeting them at their home in two weeks time. Lionel Messi was a serious doubt for this fixture when I wrote the last post, but luckily our worst fears were removed when the club doctor's ruled out any injury to Messi. Now most probably he will play in this match but we still will be missing Xavi, who is suspended for this match. Bojan Krkic who had an injury scare while playing for Spanish U-21 side has recovered, but we still have major absentees in the defense namely Abidal and Puyol.

El Madrigal is not an easy place for us to visit in recent times. To make matters worse, we have to deal with the infamous international break syndrome. We in recent seasons have always struggled coming out of an international break and Villareal will be the last place you want to visit in such a case. Our players have to be at their mercurial best to emerge on top from of this challenge. Guardiola most probably have to reshuffle his back four and midfield due to suspension and injury. Alves, Pique, Milito and Maxwell is expected to line-up in defense. The midfield should have Keita, Busquets and Iniesta. Messi, Villa and Bojan will be expected to form the front trio. As I said earlier this going to be a very tough task for our boys. In my heart I am expecting our bots to produce an impeccable display and register an away win but my brain says this probably will end up as a draw.
