Barcelona did the unthinkable, staged a dramatic fightback which saw them secure the Cop Del Rey final spot. Once again Barcelona fans could dream of silverware, something which was unthinkable a week back.

Unbelievable has been this week, if you happened to be a Barcelona fan, maybe better a Messi fan. The week started with 'Music to the Ears' news of Bartomeu getting arrested, and that too for setting up a campaign to smear the players and their families. If he had walked unhurt from the 'BarcaGate' scandal, fans would have simply given up on the hope of a God or 'The Ultimate Truth'.

As it stands, the scoundrel was charged and taken to prison temporarily, Barcelona kind of kept their League alive, maybe by a shoestring, but alive it is! And now Barcelona against all odds produced another master class to secure a place in the final, against all beliefs!

Barcelona has been knocked out of Copa del Rey Competition with a late goal at the San Mamés stadium. This was supposed to be a tough match and that proved right. Despite having the best of chances, which they failed to capitalize on. Now we will be only fighting on two fronts.

Check out the Highlights below:

The spat between Barcelona's Captain and Director of Football dominated everywhere, even in the Press conference ahead of a 'life or death' visit to San Mamés. The Captain has stood up for the players' defense, and if they rally to the Captain, San Mamés may not be able to contain them.

FC Barcelona vs Athletic Bilbao Copa Match Preview

A visit to San Mamés is always a scary affair for Barcelona, especially in recent times. We may have emerged victorious, but not without the enormous struggle where we had to face eleven spirited souls on the pitch and an additional 53,000 inspired on the stands. Despite being one of Messi's favorite opponents, Barcelona knows clearly that this will be a 'Night of Great Battle'.

None of this dominating the news right now, instead of its all about the Lionel Messi - Eric Abidal spat. It appears this is dominating one of the biggest contests in Spanish Football history. After all, these are the two sides that have won the most in the Copa Del Rey competition.

Setién's First 5-0 victory at Barcelona would definitely be a sign of things to come. The performance was not as perfect as many hoped, especially the coach. The result shows the impact of it and where it can go from here!

FC Barcelona - 5 | Leganes - 0

Quique Setién was being absolutely Setien when asked about his feedback about the match. That question in normal circumstances does not make any sense. How will you feel when your team scores five past an opponent? Delighted, usually. At least for everyone else. But not for Setién!

I am happy with the result, but not completely happy with the performance.Quique Setién

For Setién, as he has explained countless times earlier, feelings matter the most than the result. For him, something was clearly missing in the performance. That's a good sign for fans, to have a Coach who has set a standard and will do everything to make the team there.

Quique Setien secured his first'manita' of his Barcelona Coaching career with a 5-0 victory over Leganes in the Copa Del Rey pre-quarterfinals. Antoine Griezmann opened the scoring for Barcelona in the 4th minute. Griezmann is currently the leading scorer for Barcelona in the competition, followed closely by Messi who scored twice in this match. Lenglet and Arthur completed the necessary formalities for the manita.

Barcelona Coach Quique Setién is expected to go in with his strongest eleven when the team take on Leganes at the Camp Nou in Copa Del Rey Pre-Quarter Final stage.

FC Barcelona vs Leganes Preview

Barcelona will be playing their second match in this season's Copa del Rey competition tonight at the Camp Nou when they host Leganes. The relegation-threatened la Liga side will not be such a tough opponent for Barcelona at the Camp Nou unless we deliberately complicate things.

Following the almighty scare against Ibiza and the defeat against Valencia, Setién will not be in a mood to have too many experiments with the team line-up tonight. He would prefer to go with the best eleven, as he realizes the need for the players to understand his style of playing.

Ibiza - 1 | FC Barcelona - 2

FC Barcelona survived an almighty scare to win their opening match against Ibiza in the 2019-20 Copa Del Rey competition. It was Griezmann's twin strike which saved Barcelona from a huge upset after going behind in the 7th minute. Barcelona managed to draw through Griezmann only in the 72nd minute and won the match in the 4th minute of injury time.

The pitch and the condition, also the revamped starting line-up made a prospect of an upset very true as I mentioned in my preview to this match. Check out the highlights from the match below:

Barcelona is vary of the potential for an upset as they face Ibiza in Copa del Rey. The one-legged affair where the bigger teams play away from home could present a lot of issues for Setién’s team.

Barcelona Football Club opens its 2019-20 Copa del Rey campaign when they travel to the town of Ibiza to face the Segunda B side. Barcelona would be hoping to make amends in the competition after their disappointing 2-1 loss in the final. That defeat took away the chance to write a Glorious history in the Cup.

Despite the fact that the opponent is a Segunda B side, we have enough to worry about. The new format which is introduced this year allows for one match per round until the competition reaches the final stage. That means one bad day, is enough to get you out of the competition.

Barcelona Football Club booked their sixth consecutive appearance in Copa del Rey final by dumping Real Madrid out in the semi-final. They secured a 3-0 victory at Santiago Bernabeu, a stadium which evokes fear in Europe; but for some reason appears like a training ground for our boys.

Luis Saurez who was much maligned recently regarding his form emerged as the 'Hero of the Match' as he scored twice and played a decisive part in the other one. He along with Dembele scripted the victory for Barcelona, in a match in which they were the second best side for most of the time. This will Barcelona's sixth consecutive appearance in final, and they will be gunning for a record five consecutive titles.

Do Messi have to do it all alone against Real Madrid, or will his teammates stand up? That's the real question in the buildup.

FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid, Copa del Rey Preview

Lionel Messi was playing with GOD mode ON against Sevilla, singlehandedly winning the match, scoring thrice and assisting the other. In spite of the magical performance, many questioned his teammates' commitments and performance. So when Barcelona lineup tomorrow at the Santiago Bernabeu, all focus will be on his strike partners.

Real Madrid had a brilliant outing in the first leg, especially considering the lack of confidence displayed abundantly this season. And they do start the 2nd Leg at home on the front foot, courtesy of the valuable away goal.

Feb 7, 2019

Barcelona was held to a one all draw by Real Madrid at home, and the team from Spanish Capital starts on the front foot in the 2nd Leg.

FC Barcelona - 1 | Real Madrid - 1

This result didn't come to me as much of a surprise. I warned about this in my earlier article - Why Barcelona should be vary of the Real Madrid threat?. Sometimes, you get a different kind of vibe from the events and enrgy surrounding a match, and this match I felt the same. That's the reason why I came up with that earlier article, just to warn about the folly of taking Real Madrid lightly.

Did we pay dearly for the mistake of taking an opponent lightly? Only we will come to know after the second leg. But it's safe to say now that Barcelona in a third time in a row is starting on the back foot going into the Copa second leg. We turned it around against Levante and Sevilla, will we be able to do it at the Santiago Bernabeu?

FC Barcelona - 6 : Sevilla - 1, Copa del Rey 2018-19, QF 2nd Leg

FC Barcelona produced one hell of a come back for the second time in as much as rounds in this year's Copa del Rey cup. Barcelona kept it's hunt for 5th consecutive Copa del Rey title on track when they overturned a 2-0 first-leg deficit with a marvelous 6-1 victory at home. Coutinho who was much criticized scored two crucial goals and Saurez, Rakitic, Roberto and Messi completed the scoreline for Barcelona. Despite the big scoreline, it wasn't all smooth sailing and Barca definitely need to thank Cilissen for pulling out a brilliant save off Banega penalty at a crucial juncture in the match.

Lionel Messi created two goals and scored one goal and helped Barca overturn the 2-1 deficit from the first leg.

Messi Scripts Brilliant Barcelona Victory to Overcome Levante in the Cup

Barcelona produced a brilliant display of attacking football to overturn the first leg deficit with a 3-0 victory against Levante at the Camp Nou. This display clearly showed that the first leg result was mostly due to the absence of key players, mainly Lionel Messi.

Lionel Messi was once again the key difference maker, creating two goals and scoring one to ensure an easy Barcelona victory. Dembele scored two goals in the first half, both from Lionel Messi assist in the first half to make the match more or less secure. Messi's goal in the second half simply sealed the victory and dismissed any doubt, if those existed.

B arcelona Football Club will be looking to book a place in the fifth consecutive Copa Del Rey final when they face Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia tonight. FC Barcelona heads into the second leg with clear advantage of winning the first leg at the Camp Nou. Sevilla, last night booked their place in the final with an aggregate score of 3-1 against Real Madrid killer Leganés. Valverde announced an almost full strength squad to visit Mestalla; the only ones who are missing are Vermaelen and Dembélé due to injury and Denis Suárez and Lucas Digne who are actually left out. The situation with Denis is becoming a concern to me as he is not getting any time and club failed to loan him out also!

FC Barcelona is all set to face Valencia on Friday in the first leg of Copa del Rey semi-Final 2017-18

FC Barcelona will be facing Valencia FC tomorrow night in the first leg of Copa Del Rey Semi-Final tie at the Camp Nou. When the draw was made everyone agreed this was was the toughest draw possible for Barca. Not only we have to play Valencia but we have to play the second leg at Estadio de Mestalla. Valencia lies currently in 3rd position in the League and will present a huge challenge for Barca to overcome. Both the teams come to this match following contrasting results in league. FC Barcelona managed to continue their winning run in league but Valencia was thrashed 4-1 at home by Real Madrid. In both the games the scoreline never gave the clear picture; Valencia wasn't that bad against Real Madrid and Barca weren't that great against Alaves!
