Barca produced a scrappy comeback from behind win against Real Sociedad and majorly had to thank Ter Stegan for the victory. Valverde's Choices made life difficult for Barca against Soceidad.

Ter Stegan's Heroics gives Barca a Scrappy Win against real Soceidad #fcbarcelona #barca

Barcelona Football Club produced one of the most scrappiest performances you could remember in recent times to win their fourth game in the La Liga. This is the second time in succession we have forced to make a come-back from behind against Real Sociedad away from home. Despite the scrappy nature of the performance, it turns out to be an important victory for Barca as it give them a two point lead on the top of table.

Real Madrid was held to a 1-1 draw against Athletic later in the night and that means we are the only team left in the league with a 100% positive result. It's too early in the season but the two point lead this early would be a good cushion to have!

Barca will be traveling to Anoeta in their first major test. Visit to Anoeta has been a struggle in recent occasions, and there is a high chance that we may be in for the same treatment.

Messi and Fc barcelona preparing to face Real Sociedad

Barcelona Football Club will be visiting Estadio Municipal de Anoeta to face Real Sociedad tomorrow in what will be their first major test of La Liga 2018-19 season. FC Barcelona has been pretty lucky with the run of fixture so far, especially having to face three of the easier teams in the start. Real Sociedad away visit will give a clear picture of the capability of this team and how much the absence of Iniesta is going to affect us this season.

If you consider our record from 2010 onwards, we managed to win at Anoeta only one; that was in last season. Last season we managed to comeback from 2-0 down to win 4-2 against Real Sociedad at their home. That match was extremely even and the difference was the clinical finishing of our players. A similar result will be wonderful for Barca.

Despite the 8-2 scoreline, the performance of FC Barcelona against Huesca raises more questions than answers.

There could be a feeling of disbelief for those who have joined only in second half to watch last night's demolition of Huesca or those who have only seen the highlights of the match about the headline. We Barca fans are known universally for our ability to press the Panic button at the slightest hint of trouble. But even by that standard, Barca fans should have up in arms with the way we were performing in the first half last night. The second half performance may have done good to paper over the cracks that was so prnounce to escape notice in the first half.

FC Barcelona vs Huesca Highlights | FC Barcelona - 8, Huesca - 2

FC Barcelona produced a sensational display in second half to destroy new boys Huesca 8-2 at the Camp Nou. The scoreline doesn't reflect the trouble we had a daring Huesca side, especially in the first half where it ended 3-2 in Barca's favour. Lionel Messi was in inspiring form scoring two, assisting another two and as usual striking the post; this time only once.

FC Barcelona continued with their pursuit of defending La Liga title with a not so impressive victory against Real Valladoid in their first away game of the season. The match was definitely over shadowed by the state of the pitch, which resembled a farm land rather than an European Standard Football pitch. The state of pitch wasn't the only concern; the attitude of the players was quite disappointing and it also raises the big question whether we have improved from last season's weakness.

Lionel Messi proved to be the deciding factor in FC Barcelona's 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid which takes them eight points clear on top. This wasn't a match were Barca tore apart their opposition in sensational fashion; but instead this was a macth where Barca simply shut every option for their opposition, that too one of the most in form team in Europe.

FC Barcelona moved eight points clear of Atletico with a 1-0 victory at Camp Nou

Lionel Messi once again maybe for the umpteenth time decided the outcome of the match between first and second in the League; and he may also have decided the fate of the league too. With eleven games to go, that may be too early but it's safe to say that Barca will not let go off this lead that easily. And also with this victory, FC Barcelona may have stopped the momentum which Atletico was building up in recent matches. This also was a statement to the whole world, about this Barca side's pedigree and determination. This wasn't a match were Barca tore apart their opposition in sensational fashion; but instead this was a match where Barca simply shut every option for their opposition, that too one of the most in form team in Europe. The only bad part of the match was Iniesta's hamstring injury, which will see him missing the Chelsea second leg for sure!

FC Barcelona's lead on top of the table has been reduced to five points from the eleven they held at the start of 2018. Atletico's visit to Camp Nou gives Barca the perfect chance to regain the momentum of La Liga race.

March is turning out to be a very crucial month in Barca's Silverware pursuit! At the start of the year, sitting with an enormous eleven point lead this fixture was never considered a crucial one; instead it felt like a fixture when the last opposition will move out of way to Barca's La Liga triumph. How quick things change? In a span of one month we have seen our lead getting reduced from eleven points to five points. At the same time, Atletico Madrid have completely turn around the season and has launched a full fight; a full force open assault on La Liga title race.

Lionel Messi scored a sensational free kick against Girona in the 6-1 victory at Camp Nou

FC Barcelona return to winning ways after two consecutive draws with a tough fought victory against Eibar. Goals from Luis Saurez and Jordi Alba secured the victory.

Luis saurez scored for Barca in their victory against Eibar. The 2-0 victory got Barca back to winning ways

Barcelona Futbol Club was made to suffer in their 2-0 victory against Eibar away from Home. If you have to describe this victory, there is only one word which describes the same "EFFICIENT"! There is nothing else other than that. For majority of the game we were outplayed in our own game. The wet pitch and it's narrow width completely negated us; but the major factors were the Eibar players and their attitude to the game. They actually played without no fear and that showed on the field.

FC Barcelona will be facing Eibar in the 24th round of La Liga 2017-18 season. Despite the importance of this away match, all focus and attention will be on the mid week Champions League encounter!

FC Barcelona will be looking for nothing other than a victory against Eibar in the 24th round of La Liga 2017-18. Lionel Messi will be instrumental in getting the job done for Barca!

After a good start to 2018 season; suddenly the Barca juggernaut seems like have lost a bit of steam. Two draws in a row and if we club the difficult result against Alaves; that's three poor performances in recent times. The Espanyol result could be excused even though as I wrote that day, the result would have been different had we taken the initiative in first half. Suddenly the match against Eibar has taken a bigger magnitude than what we would have imagined at the start of the year. A bad result would seriously jeopardize the momentum we had in the League and also may spill into the mid week Champions League Encounter.

FC Barcelona was held to a goalless draw by Getafe at the Camp Nou in a very frustrating evening.

Lionel Messi fouled in the match in FC Barcelona's goalless draw against Getafe

Lionel Messi against Getafe - FC Barcelona vs Getafe Match Pictures

Barcelona Futbol Club was made to suffer for a second consecutive match in La Liga with a very frustrating encounter against Getafe at Camp Nou. In my preview to Copa Del Rey Semi-Final 2nd Leg, I have mentioned how opponents have failed to stop us from scoring in the league. I never expected we will lose it so soon. With the second draw in a row, Barca's lead on top have come down to seven points; it's still sizable but when you consider that the lead has come down from eleven to seven in a span of a week, something starts to worry me a lot!

A late equaliser from Gerard Pique has helped FC Barcelona to continue their unbeaten run in the league. With this draw Valverde's Barca have created a new record for unbeaten run from start.

Gerard Pique scored the equalizer which helped FC Barcelona to maintain their unbeaten start to the league

Gerard Pique celebrating Scoring against Espanyol | Source : Barca vs Espanyol Match Pictures

A late equaliser from the 'Controversy Man' Gerard Pique gave Barca a much valued draw; which actually tasted like a victory considering the backdrop to the game and the conditions the team have to encounter. There was much at stake when we approached the end of the game - at danger was the record and the perfect start to the league which have made. FC Barcelona had already equaled the best start to a League season and this was a chance to create a new history; and that was under threat.

In a pitch which resembled a swimming pool at times, this game was completely poised against FC Barcelona. They could not play anything which resembles their style in this pitch and needed a 'Hero to Save the Day'. And in stepped Pique, who had been involved in every thing related to Espanyol recently, to save Barca's unbeaten run and silence the entire stadium.

Luis Saurez, Lionel Messi and Aleix Vidal scored for Barca against Real Madrid to take Barca fourteen points clear of their arch-rival.

Barca Players Celebrating scoring against Real Madrid in 3-0 victory at the Santiago Bernebeu

Barca kept on their emphatic success streak in La Liga with a 3-0 thumping of their arch-rivals and defending Champions Real Madrid at their own home ground. This was never supposed to be the script which Real Madrid fans and most of the pundits wrote. This was supposed to be a "White Christmas"! The stadium was ready for it; they were presented the World Club Title and this was supposed to be a grand celebration party. But Barcelona boys just gate crashed it - not only destroying the party atmosphere but definitely the team spirits and along with it mostly the title hopes. This is the third consecutive victorious visit of Barca at the Santiago Bernebeu, a rare feat by all measures! With this victory Barca have moved fourteen points clear of defending Champions, Real Madrid and nine points clear of second placed Atletico Madrid. That's a huge lead especially when we are not even at half-way of the league. Barca now go to the winter break with serious momentum behind them.

Luck is not chance, it's toil; fortune's expensive smile is earned.Emily Dickinson

Strange is football at times and that was reminded again this weekend when a set of Crazy results ended up Barca increasing their lead on top. It was quite funny to an extent, when Barca dropped two more points suddenly Barca's unassailable position in League was under threat. Suddenly Valencia could cut the lead by two, Real Madrid could get back to league race by cutting lead by two points and so on. But in the end Barcelona increases their lead on top at the league by one more point, leading Valencia by five points. The lead on Real Madrid remains at eight point even though the other major side from Madrid, Atletico Madrid have moved two points ahead of city rivals and sit six point adrift of Barcelona. Quite a turn around in 36 hours!

Every artist was first an amateurRalph Waldo Emerson

Ter Stegen was signed by FC Barcelona in 2014 for a sum of 12 Million Euros. That amount is so low by today's standard that a 12 Million sum would be consider as an investment. But I am not talking about the financial investment but the emotional investment Barca put in. He was scooped in because he was the perfect Barca style keeper available and we didn't want another competitor take a look at him. And we have been proven right. Thanks to him currently we lie on top of the League and as per a summary of the latest betting odds we are the favourite to win the league. And if we did that at the end of the season, Ter Stegan would have played a huge role in that.

Difficult Roads often lead to Beautiful Destinations -

Barcelona football club is getting ready for a tough round of fixtures; may be better to say we already are in. The visit to San Mames was the start of the same and it will continue at least till the end of the first Clasico at the Bernebeu. If we comes out of this challenge unhurt we may have already have one hand on at least the La Liga title. But everyone knows this is not going to be easy! One of the major reason looks like we may be stuttering a bit after the initial high flying start in the last couple of matches. There is nothing to panic yet for Valverde but it's better he keeps the focus on the group so that things don't drift too far.

Lionel Messi against Real Madrid

- Lionel Messi Celebrating Scoring the Winner against Real Madrid -

I think the great thing about Leo is that he continues to surprise. After so many years he is still decisive. Andres Iniesta

Lionel Messi once again proved why he is still considered the Best in the World. This was a must win game for Barca, lose this the title officially goes to Real Madrid. With this last minute victory FC Barcelona stays alive in the title race. This edition of the El Clasico was expected to a fiery encounter. It lived up to it's billing; with the pendulum swing in opposite direction every 15 minutes. When James Rodriguez equaliser came in the 86th minute, all hopes for staying alive in La Liga ended for each one of us; but there was time for a last twist; that too with the very last kick of the match. In essence this match was a battle between Lionel Messi and Real Madrid and it ended with him leaving a definitive mark with his 500th Goal for the Club. What a time to bring up your 500th!

- Luis Saurez and Kameni in Malaga vs Barca Clash -

Defeat against Malaga? I don’t know if it is a step back but it is a missed opportunity. Andres Iniesta

There is no way I can describe the feeling that is running through my mind properly. I waited for a whole dayto cool down but still am fuming. How many times, how many bloody times? This has been the script of the whole season; Real Madrid is still on top of the league just because we don't take our chances when they slip up. Instead we go and slip further! Two weeks back when I was looking at the fixture list; for me this was one of the biggest week. This was the perfect chance for us to take the destiny of the league back in our hands. This was the week of the Madrid derby. Madrid has not been playing spectacularly but they were always finding heroes to bail them out. But I did expect that luck to run out against their City rivals. And run out it did. Their draw against Atletico was sheer misfortune; nevertheless it was a great chance for us to move to top of league and cut the deficit out. Instead we ended up like this!

Andres Iniesta in Deportivo vs Barca Match

- Andres Iniesta surrounded by Deportivo Players -

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back. -

It didn't last too long! the Euphoria related to the amazing come back against PSG. There is something with visit to Galacian Club this season with Barca. The last time we lost in La Liga was against another Galacian Club, Celta Vigo back in October. But this lose against Deportivo could have a huge impact on the La Liga race. In recent weeks with Real Madrid stumbling we have made spectacular come back in to the title race and now we have once again taken it out of our hands. Real Madrid who defeated Real Betis after our loss, had regained the top spot and have a two point lead at top with one game in hand. Which means they could be five points ahead once the extra-match has been played and that means even if we win all our remaining matches we may still fall short.
