FC Barcelona vs Arsenal Promise to be yet another classic

FC Barcelona and Arsenalbuild up into the most important match of this season so far in contrasting fashion. Played your opponent out of the park, is an under-statement when it comes to describing Arsenal's performance against Wolves. The most important fact for the Gunners is that everyone of their players looked to have hit perfect form just in time for the biggest match of this season. In contrast Barcelona's match against Sporting was a struggle and they had to work really hard to save a point from the match. There are two ways of looking to the draw in which we lost the consecutive win record. The first one is the positive way, with suffering a small blip against Sporting, we can expect our boys to be extra focused and motivated for the match against Arsenal. My biggest fear on Saturday morning was to see Barca stroll past Sporting and then suddenly realise tht life could be a bit harder in London on wednesday. Thankfully Sporting did beat Arsenal to that and whichever way you tend to look, that draw could be a very important oen for the season.

FC Barcelona's consecutive winning runcame to an end at the most unlikeliest place, Estadio El Molinon. Sporting Gijon made life hell for our boys in the first half and we had to rely on a brilliant finish by Villa to grab the solitary point from the match. With this draw we have now moved eight points clear of Real Madrid. Madrid will be playing Espanyol tomorrow night and have the chance to cut the lead to five points. The biggest point to be seen is how our players get over this small blip when facing Arsenal in the Champions League. Guardiola brought in some changes with an eye on Champions League clash against Arsenal. Alves, Milito, Pique and Maxwell made up the defense. Busquets was rested and that meant Mascherano started along with Iniesta and Messi. The front trio had a new look with winter signing Afellay partnering both Messi and Villa.

FC Barcelona moved ten points clear of Real Madrid with a 3-0 win against Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou. With this this side has broken the long standing record of most consecutive victories in La Liga. What makes it more sweet was the fact that it was held by that legendary Real Madrid side of Alfred Di Stefano. On an historic night Lionel Messi was the hero, notching up yet another hat-trick. Guardiola had Alves, Abidal, Pique and Maxwell in the defense. Iniesta, Xavi and Busquets formed the midfield and Villa, Messi and Pedro made the attacking trio.

FC Barcelona, when they meet Atletico Madrid in Camp Nou on tomorrow night will be playing for more than three points. Last week FC Barcelona has equalled the record for the most consecutive victories in La Liga with a 3-0 victory against Hercules. They have now equalled the record so long solely held by the legendary 1960- Real Madrid side. Javier Mascherano in the build up to this match has said that their focus lies away from that record. You have to admit that he is being a bit modest. This will bve one record we, the Barca fans want the most. Atletcio Madrid, Barca's chosen opponent for this night has beens truggling off-late. They have been struggling in recent weeks to win games and that has already raised the hopes in every Barca fans. But we should always remember that Atletico is always dangerous when they are pretty muych down. But they have struggled in recent times at Camp Nou and the last time we met themat the Vicente Calderon we handed them a 2-1 defeat. That match will be more remembered for Tomas Ujfalusi's cowardly tackle on Lionel Messi.

The upcoming Real Madrid defender David Mateos was banging heavily on hercules hurting FC Barcelona on the Saturday night. The truth was Hercules definitely tried, they played well, were very organised but this Barca side was too muchb for them to handle in the end. But the question in everybody's mind is whether the newly promoted recruit from Real Madrid B team was expecting too much from his senior side to keep on the tail of this exceptional Barcelona side. I have been to a particular Real Madrid blog sometimes back and it looked like they were banging heavily on Kaka's return to instill the momentum to take the quest forward. But at this moment his return looks like has done more damage than good to the side from the Capital.
