As all the pre-ceremony rumours indicated, Lionel Messi picked up his Sixth Ballon D'Or Award at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France.

Barcelona and Argentinian Captain, Lionel Messi was crowned the 2019 Ballon D'Or Award winner in the Gala Night held at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. With this victory, he has moved one ahead of his arch-rival Ronaldo in the number of Ballon d'Or. He has now won a record sixth Ballon D'Or and is the leader of the pack now.

This Ballon D'Or comes after almost four years. His last victory was in 2015, a year Barcelona won the treble. Liverpool's Vin Dijk came second and Cristiano Ronaldo came third (for reasons unknown).

Antoine Griezmann's Barcelona career has never taken off much, despite the early success. There was a genuine lack of understanding between Messi and Griezmann, that has frustrated everyone. But are all of these finally changing for good?

Is Antoine Griezmann for the first time, Starting to Understand his Role in Barcelona?

For Barcelona Fans and team, the most important sight to see last night was the linking up of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann on the pitch. That was something the fans were desperately waiting for. From the time the club announced the signing of the French, Barcelona fans have been waiting for the 'Messi-Saurez-Griezmann (MSG)' to take off.

From the time Neymar left Barcelona, the fans were waiting for a new trio to take over from the MSN legacy. The MSD, which stands for Messi, Saurez, and Dembele never took off as Dembele couldn't match the expectation nor could he stay fit. The arrival of Griezmann brought the MSG trio, but that remained a pipe dream till last night. Maybe they have found a way out!

Lionel Messi once again produced a master class which secured Barcelona the top spot in their Group of this Season's Champions League Competition. The Argentinian Maestro was at his very best scoring one and assisting the other two.

Once again for the umpteenth time in his career, Lionel Messi was the difference-maker on a night which could have spelled disaster for Barcelona. Courtesy of the 3-1 victory, Barcelona have managed to qualify to the knock-out stages as the group winner. That has put to rest all our doubts regarding qualification!

The Messi, Saurez, and Griezmann (MSG) combination all got into the scoresheet for the second time this season. It's rather significant, as Griezmann didn't start the game and came in as a substitute for injured Dembele. The most positive factor for Barcelona would the way Griezmanna and Messi were combining and the fact that Messi was looking for the French on the left every time.
