In a repeat of last season's Roma result, Barcelona was eliminated from UCL by Liverpool winning 4-0 on the night.

Barcelona managed to out do themselves! If last year we managed to throw away a healthy 4-1 lead, this season we did better of that. Liverpool did the unthinkable. They defeated Barcelona 4-0 to create a magical night at the Anfield and progress to their second consecutive Champions League final. Barcelona, like in Roma was left with feeling of dejection, but in this case the side felt like a poor sunday league outfit, unable to cope with the rigorous pressing from Liverpool.

Valverde's future definitely has to be in doubt after this result. Many of us felt that we should have thrown him out after Roma result. But there is no way he can survive this result. Hopefully so!

FC Barcelona squad for the travel to Anfield has been announced. Apart from the expected missing out of Dembele due to injury, there is no big surprise. Valverde has announced a 23 men squad for travel to Liverpool.

Check out the squad list below:

The 3-0 victory home gives Barcelona a comfortable platform to progress to the Final of Champions league, their ultimate goal of the season.

Barcelona Looking for a Solid Display at Anfield

At the start of the Season, Lionel Messi made it clear about what remains his and the club's first priority. It was the UEFA Champions League. He was categorical in his assessment about whether we could proceed yet another year without bringing the most coveted trophy in Europe home.

Now with a 3-0 victory in the first leg, Barcelona remains the firm favorite to reach yet another final. Despite the comfortable scoreline, which in the normal situation would have already secured the progress. But last year's Roma result hangs like a domiciles sword over Barca. That is the result which instills fear in Barcelona and hope in Liverpool.
