Barcelona continued their great run in to the season with a hard won 3-0 victory against the newly promoted Eibar. The match remained goal less for almost an hour, thanks to Eibar's dodgy defense but Barca courtesy of Messi, Xavi and Neymar secured a vital three points going into Clasico. Ahead of the Clasico last next week, Real Madrid threw up a challenge with their 5-0 victory earlier on the night. So everyone was waiting to see how Barca would react? Going in to the Clasico Enrique should be pretty confident because of Neymar's and Messi's form and also most importantly due to the fact that Bravo is yet to concede a goal this season. Luis Enrique gave Mashcerano a rare start in midfield along with Xavi and Sergi Roberto. The defense had Alves, Pique, Mathieu and Alba. Pedro surprisingly despite a string of poor results started along with Messi and Neymar. Iniesta started on the bench while Busquets and Rakitic were rested.

It was no surprise to see Eibar starting with a 5-3-2 formation against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou. Eibar's promotion to the first division was no less than a miracle, having to raise a lot of money just to gain promotion (something they actually earned in the field). Lying at tenth position in the league it was pretty clear that they will not make Barca's life easier. Most of our early attacks were easily repelled by the five men back line. In the 19th minute Messi danced into the box, throwing the entire Eibar back line into a mess but they somehow regain their composure to block him from opening the scoring. In the 21st minute Alba played a brilliant cross from left across the face of goal, but unfortunately it was just an inch away from an on rushing Neymar. In the 24th minute Messi saw another one of his effort blocked by the keeper. In the 25th minute once again Messi got through a host of defenders but his shot hit the outside of post. In the 36th minute Messi sent in a great lobbed cross in to the box putting Xavi through, but he couldn't get any decent contact on his header. In the 41st minute Eibar had the greatest oppurtunity to open their scoring. Former Barca B player Saul broke the offside trap moved into the box, Bravo came out and was easily defeated but with an open goal Saul hit the side netting. In the 43rd minute Xavi's long effort from outside the box was pushed away by Eibar's goal. In the 44th minute Pedro sent in a great cross in to the box, Messi rose above all but his header went straight in to keeper's clusp. The very next minute we were fortunate not going behind and the entire thanks would have been for Bravo who made a sensational save. Once again our defense were just not there and the Camp Nou crowd showed their displeasure with a bit of whistling.

The second half also started with not much change both in personal and style and also on the field. In the 55th minute Ineista came in for Roberto who picked up a knock. In the 60th minute Xavi Hernandez broke Eibar's brave defense with a neat little finish. The move was started by Xavi who gave the ball to Messi and continued his run in to the box, Messi without any problem spot the run and threaded a brilliant assist. In the 67th minute Messi got past three defenders actually uses them to get past them but his final shot was tipped on to the side netting. In the 72nd minute Neymar made it 2-0 with a deadly volleyed finish from an excellent Alves cross. In the 74th minute Lionel Messi opened his scoring making it 3-0. The little Argentinian gets past three markers in the midfield, plays the ball to Neymar who played it back to his running path; to be fair the angle was pretty much tight but not for Lionel Messi. In the 75th minute goal scorer Neymar was substituted for Munir. The game ended with a moment of magic from Iniesta with a brilliant ball to Messi, but the keeper pulled out a blinder to deny him.
