Carles Puyol Celebrates Scoring
Tito Vilanova started his La Liga campaign of 2012-13 seasocn with a 5-1 victory against Real Sociedad at Camp Nou. This victory has taken Barca to the top of the League Table at the end of first lef of Spanish league. Carles Puyol opened the scoring, followed by a double from Messi and one each from pedro and Villa. David Villa also marked his return to competitive football scoring the goal which sealed FC Barcelona's victory. Tito Vilanova went with Valdes, Alves, Puyol, Mascherano, Alba, Busquets, xavi, Fabregas, Pedro, Messi and Tello for his debut in La Liga. As I said in the FC Barcelona vs Real Sociedad Preview, Tito Vilanova went with a standard 4-3-3 formation for this match. The substitute list had Pinto, Iniesta, Villa, Adriano, Sanchez, Pique and Sergi Roberto.
It didn't took much time for us to score our first official goal of the season and that came from our Captai Caveman, Puyol. In the 4th minute Puyol rose above all to direct a Xavi hernandez corner into the goal. The very next minute we had a minor scare when our defense was almost caught out, but luckily the final cross from Sociedad wasn't up to the mark. In the 9th minute the defense was once again caught napping from a counter attack but this time with deadly effect - Castro equalising from counter attack. If that wasn't good enough to qualify as crazy start, then what happened next made it really crazy. We hit back straight after their goal . Tello sent in a cross from left into the box, Messi initial attempt to control it failed and the ball went to Pedro, who squared it to Messi, who was surrounded by three players. Then he is Lionel Messi, so simply took one touch and evaded from his marker and thrashed the ball into the net. In the 15th minute Lionel Messi made it 3-1, when he latched onto a Tello cross into the box. In the 17th minute Lionel Messi almost got his hat-trick, but his header went a bit high over the bar. In the 36th minute Messi forced a brilliant save from Bravo from a tight angle. In the 41st minute Pedro made it 4-1 in the end of a brilliant team move finished by Pedro from a brilliant Tello cross.
In the 50th minute Puyol was taken off for Pique. In the 52nd minute Lionel Messi hit the side netting after playing a beautiful one-two with Pedro. In the 58th minute Andres Iniesta came in for Cesc Fabregas. In the 64th minute Xavi forced a decent save from outside the box. In the 73rdminute Pedro forced an easy save by Bravo after playing a wonderful one-two with Pique in opposition box. In the 74th minute Tito brought in David Villa to the great applause of Camp Nou faithfuls, taking pedro off from action. In the 82nd minute Jordi Alba cut back a cross into the box for Messi, but he could only strike straight at keeper. In the 84th minute David Villa made the scoreline 5-1 after Iniesta cut back the ball into his path after skipping past through the left of the box. David Villa celebrated by taking off his shirt to reveal a message which read "Impossible Without You" to his family. In the 87th minute Iniesta, Alves and Messi combined in the box in a move which I don't know how to describe. Butr Messi's final attempt to chip the ball over the keeper went a bit wide.
What a start we had to this season. There were some nervous moments in the start but one we got the two goal cushion we were cruising through the match. Without any doubt the best player on the pitch was Christian tello. He should have two assist to his name at the end of the match and was a constant threat on the left. Messi who was brilliant in the first half - scoring two goals, was a bit off the target in the second half. David Villa's scoring return was the icing on the cake for every Cule
