It's more or less official, Barcelona will not be able to sign Rodrigo in this winter market from Valencia. The talks between the two clubs have collapsed because of the high price tag associated.
Till last evening there were hopes of salvaging this deal, but now it appears completely dead and buried. This has become a pattern of late with our management. Now Barcelona needs to find a replacement as quickly as possible. Will they be able to?
Valencia's 60 Million Price Tag for Rodrigo keeps Barcelona Away
Barcelona was looking for various ways to reduce the asking price from Valencia for the signing of Rodrigo. The asking 60 Million price tag was considered rather high and the club was worried whether this will upset Club's financial situation. The idea was to include some youth players in the deal and bring down the price.
Wague was suggested to be in a deal to bring Rodrigo to Barcelona. I just can't imagine what will the impact of this news on a youngster like Wague. That never materialized as Valencia never showed any serious interest. Then things got so crazy, where Barcelona was thinking of signing Sporting's Bruno Fernandez and loaning him out to Rodrigo. Luckily because of Manchester United's interest in the midfielder, that move collapsed.
Will Barcelona be able to Sign a Striker Replacement?
The latest name which is being linked is Alex Tadic of Ajax. It appears his agent is in Barcelona for negotiations. But don't be so enthused about this news, there is no way any of this is happening. Barcelona in most probability will end up with not striker signed. And with Carles Perez all set to join Roma, we will have one member less in the cast. and with Dembele always being one match away from another injury, we could be searching for players to field in soon.
One thing we learned from all this saga is 'Barcelona Management cannot make even the Smallest of Transfer Happen, even if their lives Depend on that'.
