A win against Osausna at home will see FC Barcelona going back to the top of league, at least for 24 hours. After the recent exploits of Lionel Messi on the pitch, there has been calls to give the little maestro some deserving rest, especially ahead of the Champions League clash on next Wednesday. In the last three matches, it was all Lionel Messi and for that precise reason Guardiola will not leave him out of the squad. But there is a high chance of seeing him start from the bench for tonight's encounter and will be only called upon if the team is in trouble. Ideally I would have rested him for the Mallorca match, but our away form has been a bit tricky this season and it may be safe to take this risk in a home match. Osasuna always have been a tricky opponents for us. Their last visit resulted in a rare home defeat to Barca, even though with the La Liga title in the bags Guardiola only send a second string side. Earlier this season, Osasuna Held Barca to a draw. Osasuna has failed to win any of their last six matches and going through some difficult time. To make matters worse, Osasuna has a number of players in the injury list.

Lionel Messi's absence could be a test for FC Barcelona

Guardiola also has his injury worries with Pique certain to miss this match. But Milito's good form should help Guardiola and we should see the pairing of Milito and Puyol in the centre of defense. I have my doubts with Milito-Puyol partnership as both of their positional sense are average. Alves and Maxwell should play their usual full back role. The midfield should see Iniesta returning after starting from bench in the last match. Toure and Busquets should be the other participant in that midfield. With Messi starting from bench, Bojan should get a rare start on the right. Henry should come in the left side and Ibrahmovic should retain his place in centre. All eyes would be on Ibrahmovic to see whether scoring that penalty has helped his confidence. Osasuna's recent form has been poor and our home form has been excellent. So this should be a comfortable win for Barca, even with Messi starting on the bench. I predict a 3-0 victory for Barca. Post your predictions friends.
