Xavi's Barcelona side has successfully doused the flames, showcasing a dazzling exhibition of attacking prowess. The lingering question now is how long this reinvigorated form can be sustained!

FC Barcelona - 3 | Napoli - 1

Anticipated as the night for scripting the managerial epitaph of Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona defied expectations, advancing into the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. Many pundits had deemed this a monumental task for the current Barcelona squad.

The evening laid bare both the strengths and vulnerabilities of Barcelona, evoking a rollercoaster of emotions that has defined their season. Hope remains the guiding force, teetering between the familiar expressions of "Hope Takes us Forward" and "It's the Hope that Kills us." The season's conclusion will determine what we hold onto!

Barcelona build up on their recent momentum with a hard fought important victory against Atletico Madrid. Jao Felix goal defined the destiny of the game.

In a high-octane clash that had fans at the edge of their seats, Barcelona managed to secure a vital 1-0 victory against Atletico Madrid, adding another significant win to their recent successful run, thanks to Joao Felix’s return to haunt his former team.

Barcelona managed to secure a 4-3 win against Villarreal in a match that left more concerns than assurances. Once again, Lamine Yamal shone as the standout player, displaying a level of brilliance beyond his years.

FC Barcelona extended their winning streak in La Liga with a hard-fought and exhilarating 4-3 triumph over Villarreal on the road. This victory marked their first away win and provided a respite after the rather uneventful opening match against Getafe. Goals from Gavi and De Jong propelled Barcelona to a 2-0 lead before Villarreal responded with three consecutive goals. Second-half strikes from Ferran Torres and Lewandowski helped Barcelona reverse the momentum and secure the valuable three points.

Barcelona kick-started their season with a resolute 2-0 victory over a determined and industrious Cadiz outfit. Eager to bounce back from the previous week's disappointment, the Barcelona faithful were in anticipation of a spirited response from their team. While glimpses of improvement were evident, perfection remained a distant goal.

Amidst a night fraught with tension and struggle, securing these three points proved immensely valuable, especially considering that failing to clinch victory would have allowed Real Madrid to establish a considerable lead early on in the campaign.

One criticism that was levelled heavily against Xavi in his short span as a manager is that his team never won against a top team. He and his boys changed that spectacularly last night with a mind-blowing performance.

Xavi got his first victory against a top side at the Camp Nou with a 4-2 drubbing of Atletico Madrid last night. Goals from Alba, Gavi, Araujo and Dani Alves secured Barcelona the victory, which takes them to the top four in the table for the first time.

The performance lays rest to the many doubts people had about this team's ability to win big games and also to qualify for Champions League next season. The latest odds by sports betting Canada makes Barcelona a firm favourite to secure the Champions League spot. The new signings all did well, especially Traore who was playing with a purpose, something Dembele never managed to do in his entire career.

In the end, there was no anger or bitterness of defeat. Fans have so much accustomed to disaster under Koeman, the 2-1 defeat at our own home felt like a colourless affair.

There was no discovery at the end of ninety minutes, just a rediscovery of the new normal. If there was no discovery, the realization part continued. The realization of how big was Messi's impact at Barcelona, especially at these last few seasons!

There were bright spots, definitely with the kids, Aguero goal and overall effort from Depay. One was left to wonder what would have happened if we had Messi also starting from the right.

Bayern bossed Barcelona on the Camp Nou pitch like they were taking an evening stroll. Barcelona came well short of putting up a fight. Whether they were interested?

The final whistle came with a huge sigh of relief for many fans including myself. There was a sense of relief that this result was somewhat justifiable to ourselves. This wasn't a humiliation, and Bayern didn't have that many chances also.

In all this, we also validate an unpleasant truth which we all knew beforehand but was not willing to accept. This match showcased the gap between FC Barcelona and other superpower clubs in Europe. We are technically a mid-table team in Europe. Bayern played in second gear for most of the game, shifted momentarily to third gear to score the goals and went back. It was a stroll in the park.

Barcelona did the unthinkable, staged a dramatic fightback which saw them secure the Cop Del Rey final spot. Once again Barcelona fans could dream of silverware, something which was unthinkable a week back.

Unbelievable has been this week, if you happened to be a Barcelona fan, maybe better a Messi fan. The week started with 'Music to the Ears' news of Bartomeu getting arrested, and that too for setting up a campaign to smear the players and their families. If he had walked unhurt from the 'BarcaGate' scandal, fans would have simply given up on the hope of a God or 'The Ultimate Truth'.

As it stands, the scoundrel was charged and taken to prison temporarily, Barcelona kind of kept their League alive, maybe by a shoestring, but alive it is! And now Barcelona against all odds produced another master class to secure a place in the final, against all beliefs!

By the end of the night, there were no feeling of being hurt. When something becomes routine and expected, people get adjusted to that. The hopes were all ended in the first few minutes.

Barcelona suffered yet another humiliating defeat at Camp Nou going down 4-1 to a KMbappe inspired PSG. KMbappe scored a hat-trick, which many believe indicate a change of guard in World of Football. Honestly, I believe last night's performance doesn't prove KMbappe's greatness, but only a testimony of how bad this Barcelona side is.

By the end of the night, there was no feeling of being hurt. When something becomes routine and expected, people get adjusted to that. The hopes were all ended in the first few minutes. Midway through the match we were going through the motions and were worried about how it will all end in Paris. Luckily there is no hope left for you to be worried about!

The most hurting part of all this wasn't the result, it's the realization that there is no end of this suffering in near future.

It doesn't surprise us any more, these defeats. We have come to terms with these horrible results. Now the immediate prayer on everyone's mind would be to see a series of not-so-bad results, which would help us to qualify at least for Champions League.

That's how the situation has turned for worse under Koeman. Despite the horrible last few matches under Setien, we all would admit that he at least got us dreaming in the first few matches undercharge. Still, to date, we wonder why he changed from that initial orientation and how it would have all changed had he remained true to that.

With Koeman there was not such pretence! This guy's unique selling point was that 'He knew How to Fix Things'. At the moment he doesn't look capable of doing anything other than going down under the weight of his ego.

High flying Koeman's Barcelona was brought down to reality by a very sturdy and efficient Sevilla side. In the end, everyone agrees that the 1-1- draw was a just result as both teams showed their pedigree.

After keeping two clean sheets and scoring a ton of goals in their first two matches, Barcelona were reminded of their fragility today when Sevilla was held to a draw at Camp Nou. Luuk de Jong opened the scoring for Sevilla before Coutinho equalizing within minutes.

Both teams failed to add another to the tally, even though they had enough chances. In the end, both teams were equally balanced. Barcelona had the better of possession, but the Sevilla had the better of Shots taken. The differences in all these between the teams were very minute. And that's how well these two teams were balanced!

Sensational Ansu Fati scores twice and creates another to help Koeman open his Barcelona Managerial era in some style.

Much was expected of Ansu Fati who officially became a first-team player this season. And he didn't disappoint. Surrounded by all proven stars, the 17-year old produced sensational football securing Barcelona a brilliant victory in the season opener. He scored twice, secured a penalty and was a threat throughout on the left-wing.

The opener against Villareal was considered a very tricky affair. But then Barcelona had Ansu Fati, who along with Alba was in full flow on the left-hand side of the pitch. Messi whose commitment will be questioned from many corners this season scored one goal via a penalty and created the chance which ended in the fourth goal.

Barcelona suffered their worst ever European defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich losing 8-2. To be honest the scoreline could have been a lot worse!

There is nothing to say or write after what we saw at display in Portugal tonight. The Barcelona team suffered their worst defeat in living memory. Bayern treated them like schoolboys. May be comparing the display of our boys to schoolboy is a disgrace to the latter!

In the end we all felt relieved that it was only 8-2. It could have been a lot worse. Barcelona deserved to lose by at least a dozen goals today. They should thank their luck that the deficit was only 6 goals.

Despite all those lingering doubts, Barcelona made to the next round of the Champions League courtesy of Barcelona's magician, Lionel Messi. Now for Messi, a bigger Bayern test awaits!

Lionel Messi Inspires Barcelona Victory

FC Barcelona - 3 | Napoli - 1

If there was any doubt regarding whether Barcelona's fate lies in the hand of a single man, this match cleared all that doubt. Barcelona will stay alive so far Messi can create magic like this continuously.

If Barcelona fans were looking for hope in this match, they most probably would have been left with mixed feelings. Barcelona did more than enough to secure the progress but not in a convincing fashion.

Arturo Vidal's vital early goal secures Barcelona in a vital away fixture. Now all eyes shifts to Real Madrid's game against an in-form Granada.

Ter Stegan was instrumental for Barcelona against Real Valladolid

It was a struggle in the end. FC Barcelona secured three vital points against Real Valladolid, cutting the lead at the top to just one point. As expected, Barcelona did the only thing they could do in the chase, try to win all their matches. And obviously, there is the small factor of praying for Real Madrid dropping points.

It was an early goal from Vidal created by Lionel Messi which became the difference-maker. Messi with that assist now has 20 assists in this season.

Barcelona did what they could do at the moment, winning their game and stay on the trail of Real Madrid. This wasn't any spectacular performance, but good enough to secure three points.

Barcelona Players Celebrating victory over Espanyol

Barcelona secured vital three points in their mostly fading campaign to defend the La Liga title. This victory moves them a point behind the league leader Real Madrid. The capital side has one game in hand and all eyes will be on how they fare against Alaves, who themselves are struggling big time.

The 1-0 victory against Espanyol wasn't spectacular but was enough to secure three points. Barcelona's victory confirmed the relegation of their city rivals to the Segunda Division. It's quite sad to see a Catalan side going down, but it was inevitable.

Barcelona secured a brilliant victory over Villareall away froom home and that too with a majestic performance, a rare combination these days. In the Grand scheme of things, will this even matter?

Messi, Saurez and Griezman forms the MSG Trident

Barca - 4 | Villareal - 1

FC Barcelona scored a vital 4-1 victory away from home against Villareal, a rarity these days! If the final scoreline was a rarity, the quality of the football on display was even more. I can't even recall the last time we saw such a brilliant performance from this Barcelona side away from home.

Despite the quality on display, this may have arrived a tad too late for Barcelona's title prospects. Real Madrid now lies four points ahead and once again with help of dubious VAR decision. The chances of them slipping appears very rare, or is it safe to say the chances of the referees and the League allowing them to slip is pretty rare.

Is this draw the final nail in Barcelona's hope for retaining the title? Barcelona needs a near miracle now to retain the League title!

FC Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid Match Report

FC Barcelona - 2 | Atletico Madrid - 2

In one of the most vital matches of this season, Barcelona was held to 2-2 draw at the Camp Nou by a high flying Atletico Madrid. Messi and company needed to win this match at any cost to keep their La Liga hopes alive. Even then it wouldn't have been enough! But with this result, they may have kissed goodbye to the title!

By the time Barcelona line-up for the next match, the lead at the top could be a significant four points. With only four matches left, that could be too much to overturn, even if this Barcelona team finds their top form. With the kind of display now we are displaying, there could be no hope at all.

Jun 24, 2020

For the purist, this wasn't a match to remember, but these are the kind of victories that will decide a season. And Barcelona hopes this is one of those!

Rakitic Scores against Bilbao

Once again, Barcelona looked jagged, lagged and all other things and to make matters worse, at their own home. An extremely scrappy goal from the much-maligned Rakitic was needed for Barcelona to secure three vital points and move back to the top of the table. Now we need to wait to find out how many days that promotion lasts for?

Lionel Messi once again was instrumental in the goal. It was his pass which resulted in the opening which Rakitic converted. But to be honest, I doubt it was a pass from Messi. It was a brilliant turn from Messi which got converted into an assist, all thanks to Rakitic who unlike his fellow teammates made the run into the box!

Jun 20, 2020

Barcelona was held to a goalless draw against Sevilla. Maybe one can say, the Catalans were extremely lucky to even come back with a point.

Sevilla drew with Barcelona

The clash between the first placed and third-placed team in La Liga ended in a stalemate. The draw still kept Barcelona at top of the League, but Barcelona's fate in the League may have been taken out of their hands. Real Madrid who plays tomorrow night will have a chance to move back to the League summit!

The performance showcased at the Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium raises a lot of questions about the team, especially about their ability to withstand such a heavy schedule, which is being played out.
