With Just Days for World Cup to Start, it appears an entire hope of 44 Million Argentinians depend on only one person, Lionel Messi.

Once again the whole attention of another World Cup is majorly focussed on one Man, Lionel Messi; or at least for those who support Lionel Messi and Argentina. Many builds it as Lionel Messi's last chance to secure a World Cup and end the debate of the "Greatest of All Time" once and forever. Some claim it would be his last tournament but I think people are going over board. Unless something untowards happens; you would all see Lionel Messi in the Doha World Cup 2022 and may be even in the World Cup of 2026 even at the age of 38.

FC Barcelona produced another sensational footballing display against Villareal in their pursuit to becoming the first team to remain unbeaten in a La Liga season. There are two matches left for Barca in the league, the first one is against Levante away from home and the next one is Real Sociedad at home. Goals from Coutinho, Messi, Paulinho and a brace from Dembele helped Barca to a comfortable 5-1 victory against Villareal.

May 7, 2018

10 Men FC Barcelona managed to chalk out a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid last night at the Camp Nou with some sensational plays from the big players. Messi and Saurez scored for Barca meanwhile Ronaldo and Bale scored for the Los Blancos. Watch the highlights from the match below:

May 4, 2018

Even though FC Barcelona have won the La Liga title and Copa Del Rey; still this Clasico matters a lot especially for the future of their Manager.

Normally a domestic double in any league is a huge task for a team to achieve; but with this Barca side we have become so used to it; it appears like a routine affair! Everytime we don't achieve the treble it feels like a bit of disappointing season; little we remember that only it has ever been done twice in history.

Considering where we were at the start of the season, any fan would have taken the domestic double. The disappointment stems from the fact that we have rounded up the league effectively by december and how we screwed ourselves against Roma. It hurts more seeing how other teams are also seriously under-performing; which definitely makes you wonder had we played properly in the second leg at Roma, would there be anyone who could stop us from performing the treble.

Apr 13, 2018

Against all odds Roma pulled off the seemingly impossible task by knocking out FC Barcelona with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over the visitors at home.

For the 3rd Season in succession, FC Barcelona was knocked out of the Quarter-Final stage in UEFA Champions League. Now that's a seriously dangerous pattern which needs to be addressed soon. All of us believed that Barcelona had the tie rapped up after the 4-1 victory at the Camp Nou.

But a combination of complacency and tactical mistakes from the Manager resulted in Barca being at the receiving end of a wonderful come back once again at this stage of the tournament. Now they may have to once again watch from sidelines their biggest rivals (who despite the hiccup against Juventus) script another glorious chapter in European Football.

Last summer, the omens did not look good for Barcelona fans. Having sacked manager Luis Enrique after a second-place finish in La Liga, the club had taken a risk in replacing him with the untried Ernesto Valverde. That appointment was followed by the loss of star striker Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain and the failure to bring Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool to Catalonia. It seemed as though another season of disappointment beckoned.

FC barcelona to face Roma in UCL QF

FC Barcelona is drawn to face AS Roma in the Quarter Finals of the UEFA Champions league 2017-18 season. Looking at all the possibilities possible, we got the easiest draw even though the fact that we play the second leg away from home could make this tie tricky. The first leg will be played on the 3rd of April at the Camp Nou and we will have the second leg a week after in Italy.

Time has come to announce the winner for the Lionel Messi Jersey contest run on the blog. There was very good response to the contest and Ii would like to thank everyone who participated in the same. The Winner's name is announced below and I will personally mail to the winner to proceed further.

Lionel Messi was instrumental in the 3-0 victory of Barca over Chelsea at the Camp Nou.

Enjoy 3 GIFs of Lionel Messi destroying Chelsea below:

Lionel Messi scored two goals and created the other one in a 3-0 demolition of Chelsea securing a record 11th Consecutive Quarter Final appearance in UEFA Champions League.

Lionel Messi celebrating Scoring against Chelsea

Lionel Messi, once again was the difference maker for Barca in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League 2017-18 Pre-Quarter Knockout tie. The little Argentinian scored two goals and created the other one in a very efficient 3-0 victory against Chelsea. In the process he became the second player in UEFA Champions League history to score 100 goals. The 3-0 scoreline may give a picture of the match being too comfortable; but this match was like the Atletico match where we were made to suffer; may be a lot more than Atletico. But like against Atletico, we clearly shut down Chelsea from making anything much of the game.

With Iniesta's presence still a doubt, Barca will be depending on Lionel Messi more to get the job done against Chelsea at the Camp Nou in the second led of UEFA Champions League Knockout tie.

Lionel Messi celebrating Scoring against Chelsea

Lionel Messi, will be once again the focus point when Barcelona lines up against Chelsea in the second leg. Lionel Messi who became father for the third time this weekend dropped himself out of the squad which traveled won against Malaga in the weekend. He would be fully rested for this clash and will be the focal point of Barca's attack. Despite Messi's heroics this season, one person dominates the entire build up to this match - Andres Iniesta. Iniesta was expected to sit out this tie after picking up an hamstring injury, but now there are serious report coming out of Barcelona that he may even start. Personally I don't think he will start, but going by the progress he has made in recovery, he definitely will play a part in second half.

Lionel Messi's wonder skills against Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou from Last Night

Lionel Messi proved to be the deciding factor in FC Barcelona's 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid which takes them eight points clear on top. This wasn't a match were Barca tore apart their opposition in sensational fashion; but instead this was a macth where Barca simply shut every option for their opposition, that too one of the most in form team in Europe.

FC Barcelona moved eight points clear of Atletico with a 1-0 victory at Camp Nou

Lionel Messi once again maybe for the umpteenth time decided the outcome of the match between first and second in the League; and he may also have decided the fate of the league too. With eleven games to go, that may be too early but it's safe to say that Barca will not let go off this lead that easily. And also with this victory, FC Barcelona may have stopped the momentum which Atletico was building up in recent matches. This also was a statement to the whole world, about this Barca side's pedigree and determination. This wasn't a match were Barca tore apart their opposition in sensational fashion; but instead this was a match where Barca simply shut every option for their opposition, that too one of the most in form team in Europe. The only bad part of the match was Iniesta's hamstring injury, which will see him missing the Chelsea second leg for sure!

FC Barcelona's lead on top of the table has been reduced to five points from the eleven they held at the start of 2018. Atletico's visit to Camp Nou gives Barca the perfect chance to regain the momentum of La Liga race.

March is turning out to be a very crucial month in Barca's Silverware pursuit! At the start of the year, sitting with an enormous eleven point lead this fixture was never considered a crucial one; instead it felt like a fixture when the last opposition will move out of way to Barca's La Liga triumph. How quick things change? In a span of one month we have seen our lead getting reduced from eleven points to five points. At the same time, Atletico Madrid have completely turn around the season and has launched a full fight; a full force open assault on La Liga title race.

Referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz once again played the spoilsport for Barca like he always does in a match which could make Sunday's encounter with Atletico pretty important. With the help of teh Referee Las Palmas was able to hold Barca to a 1-1 draw which reduced Barca's lead at top to just five points.

Watch the Highlights from FC Barcelona's 1-1- draw against las Palmas below:

Despite scoring the vital away goal, Barca's performance against Chelsea was a subdued one. Chelsea for mostly part was able to negate FC Barcelona with a solid formation and defense.

FC Barcelona will be banking on Iniesta and Chelsea to win the game against Chelsea

In 20 day time, FC Barcelona will be facing Chelsea in the second Leg of Champions League knockout tie at the Camp Nou. Barca hold a definitive advantage after scoring the vital away goal in the draw at Stamford Bridge. But banking on that alone would be recipe for disaster, as Chelsea have proven time and time again that they can score goals at the Camp Nou. In a way Chelsea's usual playing style is the one we usually despise and is the one usually make us pretty uncomfortable.

Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi Celebrating Goal against Chelsea - Barca vs Chelsea Match Pics

This season has been so far pretty good for Lionel Messi. He has been ticking away some of his unchecked items from his list since the start of the season. The best match of Barca so far this season has been the victory against Juventus. Messi never scored against Buffon in his career and he ticked away that. To the build up of last night's encounter against Chelsea, a lot of people were asking the sensational question 'Will Messi Score against Chelsea?' Some times it gets to the point of being absolutely ridiculous, where some people and pundits will hold it against him every time he puts in a good performance. So finally he got that box also ticked out; he scored the very important away goal which equalized the scoreline for Barca and also made good of not so efficient performance.

FC Barcelona will be looking for a solid result in the first leg of UEFA Champions League Knock-out stage at Stamford Bridge.

FC barcelona vs Chelsea at stamford Bridge

Barcelona Football Club will be back to a stadium where it all started, the 'Golden Run'. Stamford Bridge has been a special place for Barca interms of triumph and controversy surrounding those victories. The current Golden run started at Stamford Bridge under Pep Guardiola with the 'Iniesta Golazzo'. Before that we were meeting Chelsea regularly from the Rijkaards era and each one of them ended with some controversy on its own. So this fixture have quite a history in recent Champions League years and there won't be any doubt that this coming encounter also will have its share of excitement.

GIF animation of Iniesta's Golazo which took Barca past Chelsea in 2009 Champions League tie. Brilliant to watch this especially when we have witnessed last night a similar sensational strike from Lionel Messi.

Lionel Messi in action in FC Barcelona's 2-0 victory against Eibar

FC Barcelona secured a very hard fought victory against Eibar last night which could prove very essential in their run to regain their La Liga Title. Luis Saurez and Jordi Alba scored in each half to secure the victory.

Watch the full match highlights with English commentary below:

FC Barcelona return to winning ways after two consecutive draws with a tough fought victory against Eibar. Goals from Luis Saurez and Jordi Alba secured the victory.

Luis saurez scored for Barca in their victory against Eibar. The 2-0 victory got Barca back to winning ways

Barcelona Futbol Club was made to suffer in their 2-0 victory against Eibar away from Home. If you have to describe this victory, there is only one word which describes the same "EFFICIENT"! There is nothing else other than that. For majority of the game we were outplayed in our own game. The wet pitch and it's narrow width completely negated us; but the major factors were the Eibar players and their attitude to the game. They actually played without no fear and that showed on the field.

Feb 16, 2018

FC Barcelona will be facing Eibar in the 24th round of La Liga 2017-18 season. Despite the importance of this away match, all focus and attention will be on the mid week Champions League encounter!

FC Barcelona will be looking for nothing other than a victory against Eibar in the 24th round of La Liga 2017-18. Lionel Messi will be instrumental in getting the job done for Barca!

After a good start to 2018 season; suddenly the Barca juggernaut seems like have lost a bit of steam. Two draws in a row and if we club the difficult result against Alaves; that's three poor performances in recent times. The Espanyol result could be excused even though as I wrote that day, the result would have been different had we taken the initiative in first half. Suddenly the match against Eibar has taken a bigger magnitude than what we would have imagined at the start of the year. A bad result would seriously jeopardize the momentum we had in the League and also may spill into the mid week Champions League Encounter.

Paco Alcacer at the Camp Nou

Signed back in 2016 from yo-yoing Valencia, Paco Alcacer looked set to be the next home grown player who’d work his way into the starting line-up at Barcelona. Luis Enrique was in charge when he signed for the club, with it trending in the traditional ideology of only bringing certain styles of players from a select few nations, with Spain obviously being the primary option, but the transfer of this forward always looked like an arguably pointless one.

FC Barcelona was held onto their first goalless draw of the La Liga 2017-18 La Liga season by Getafe at the Camp Nou. A defensively organised Getafe side proved too much for Barcelona players to breakdown despite the attcking powers they posess. In the end this draw sees Barca's lead at top cut from nine to seven.

Barcelona Futbol Club was made to suffer for a second consecutive match in La Liga with a very frustrating encounter against Getafe at Camp Nou. In my preview to Copa Del Rey Semi-Final 2nd Leg, I have mentioned how opponents have failed to stop us from scoring in the league. I never expected we will lose it so soon. With the second draw in a row, Barca's lead on top have come down to seven points; it's still sizable but when you consider that the lead has come down from eleven to seven in a span of a week, something starts to worry me a lot!

FC Barcelona sealed their spot in the final of this season's Copa Del Rey with a 2-0 win on the night against Valencia. Barca condemned Valencia to a six consecutive lose with an efficient display to take the tie on an aggregate score of 3-0 to the favour. Now Barca will be facing Sevilla on the 21st of April, 2018 in the final of Copa Del Rey. After a goalless first half, it was Barca's new signing Coutinho who opened the scoring within three minutes of his arrival as a substitute. Rakitic late in the match completed the scoreline.

FC Barcelona will be looking to secure a fifth consecutive Copa Del rey final when they take on Valencia tonight

B arcelona Football Club will be looking to book a place in the fifth consecutive Copa Del Rey final when they face Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia tonight. FC Barcelona heads into the second leg with clear advantage of winning the first leg at the Camp Nou. Sevilla, last night booked their place in the final with an aggregate score of 3-1 against Real Madrid killer Leganés. Valverde announced an almost full strength squad to visit Mestalla; the only ones who are missing are Vermaelen and Dembélé due to injury and Denis Suárez and Lucas Digne who are actually left out. The situation with Denis is becoming a concern to me as he is not getting any time and club failed to loan him out also!

Andres Iniesta was instrumental in the 1-1 draw against Espanyol

FC Barcelona under Valverde created history last night for the best record of consecuitive unbeaten run from start in the League. FC Barcelona needed a late equalizer from Pique to continue the unbeaten streak.

Watch the full highlights of the match below with english commentary from Ray Hudson, the legend himself!

A late equaliser from Gerard Pique has helped FC Barcelona to continue their unbeaten run in the league. With this draw Valverde's Barca have created a new record for unbeaten run from start.

A late equaliser from the 'Controversy Man' Gerard Pique gave Barca a much valued draw; which actually tasted like a victory considering the backdrop to the game and the conditions the team have to encounter. There was much at stake when we approached the end of the game - at danger was the record and the perfect start to the league which have made. FC Barcelona had already equaled the best start to a League season and this was a chance to create a new history; and that was under threat.

In a pitch which resembled a swimming pool at times, this game was completely poised against FC Barcelona. They could not play anything which resembles their style in this pitch and needed a 'Hero to Save the Day'. And in stepped Pique, who had been involved in every thing related to Espanyol recently, to save Barca's unbeaten run and silence the entire stadium.

FC Barcelona’s January transfer window recruit Yerry Mina comes straight over to Spain from South America. At 23, he is still learning the game and there’s no better place to do that than the Camp Nou, but Mina must hit the ground running due to the departure of Javier Mascherano to China and cover being thin.

As one of Argentina’s most capped players and because he won 17 trophies during his time in Catalonia, Mascherano leaves some big shoes to fill in the heart of the Barca backline. He is not the only La Liga great from South America that young Mina will want in time to emulate either.

Do you remember these great central defenders from across the Atlantic playing in Spain?

FC Barcelona is all set to face Valencia on Friday in the first leg of Copa del Rey semi-Final 2017-18

FC Barcelona will be facing Valencia FC tomorrow night in the first leg of Copa Del Rey Semi-Final tie at the Camp Nou. When the draw was made everyone agreed this was was the toughest draw possible for Barca. Not only we have to play Valencia but we have to play the second leg at Estadio de Mestalla. Valencia lies currently in 3rd position in the League and will present a huge challenge for Barca to overcome. Both the teams come to this match following contrasting results in league. FC Barcelona managed to continue their winning run in league but Valencia was thrashed 4-1 at home by Real Madrid. In both the games the scoreline never gave the clear picture; Valencia wasn't that bad against Real Madrid and Barca weren't that great against Alaves!

Lionel Messi brilliant free kick against Alaves

Lionel Messi was in top form against Alaves where we were treated to a couple of brilliant free kick. The best of those were the ones in the 42nd minute and 84th minute. The first one which was the best of the lot was brilliantly saved by the keeper. The second helped us to secure the three points at home.

Watch the two brilliant free kick below:

FC Barcelona continued their winning ways in League with a 2-1 come back from behind victory over Alaves at the Camp Nou last night. With this victory Barca have regained the eleven points lead on the top of the league table. This was supposed to be a easy game as Alaves was lying just one places above the releagtion zone. But it turned out to be anything but that; Alaves took the lead in first half and we were struggling to equalize for most of the part against a well organised side. It took two late goals the first from Saurez in 73rd minute and the winner via free kick by Messi in 84th minute to secure the three points.

FC Barcelona will face Valencia in Copa Del Rey

FC Barcelona to face Valencia in Copa Del Rey Semi-Final

Copa Del Rey semi-final draw is out and Barca is to face Valencia in the semi-final. In the other semis, Sevilla will face Leganés; that's a clash between two side which eliminated the big teams from Capital City. Not only Barcelona will face the toughest team, we have to play the second leg away from home. That makes the tie pretty difficult and also increases the importance of the first leg.

FC Barcelona secured semi-final spot in Copa Del Rey with a 2-0 victory against Espanyol at Camp Nou. Lionel Messi and Luis Saurez both scored the goals for Barca on a night where Coutinho made his official Barca debut. Before the start of the match there was a tribute paid for the service for Mascherano, who is leaving Barca.

Watch the full match highlights also the tribute paid to Mashcerano below with English Commentary:

FC Barcelona secured the passage to Semi Final of 2017-18 Copa Del Rey Semi-Finals with a 2-0 victory over city rivals Espanyol at the Camp Nou. Luis Saurez and Lionel Messi both scored early in first half to help Barca over-turn the 1-0 deficit from first leg.

Lionel Messi scored the decisive goal which took Barca past Espanyol securing semi-final place in Copa Del Rey 2017-18

FC Barcelona have secured the semi-final spot in Copa Del Rey semi-finals with a 2-0 victory with an efficient performance at the Camp Nou over city rivals Espanyol. Any doubt of Barca's progress was put to rest when Luis Saurez scored early on the first half negating the opponents advantage from first leg. As I mentioned in the Barca vs Espanyol Preview, the early goal completely changed the tie to Barca's advantage and Lionel Messi's goal secured the victory and passage. Everyone expected Barca to seal the victory with at least one more goal but that wasn't to be and that made for a nervous ending when it was clear a goal from Espanyol means we will go out on away goals. But then our defense never gave a decent sniff to Espanyol's offense even though our forwards were wasting chances after chances.

Lionel Messi would be instrumental for Barca in their second leg tie against Espanyol in Copa Del Rey

FC Barcelona would be facing their first do-or-die situation of the 2017-18 season when they face Espanyol at the Camp Nou in the 2nd Leg of Copa Del Rey tie. Last mid-week Espanyol condemned Barca to their first defeat of the season when they won 1-0 at their home. In normal circumstances a 1-0 deficit won't be much of a problem for Barca especially at home; but such has been this mid-week that everyone is worried about Barca becoming the third biggest upset! Last night against every expectation Real Madrid lost to Leganés at their very home and got themselves eliminated on away goal after leading the first leg 1-0. Now Real Madrid has joined their city rivals Atletico who was eliminated by Sevilla a day ago.

Barcelona Futbol Club players have not let down their intensity so far in the league despite everyone of their challengers falling behind. It was a weekend where the second placed Atletico Madrid dropped points when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Girona. But that never made Barca players complacent, instead they saw their chance to increase their lead at top to eleven points. The current lead if sustained will be enough to win Barca the title before Real Madrid visit Camp Nou later this season. That should act as a motivation for the players!

Barcelona will bid to continue their relentless march towards the La Liga title when they visit Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Ernesto Valverde's side travel to San Sebastian full of confidence after thrashing Celta Vigo 5-0 on Thursday to book their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals.

Barca currently have 48 points from their 18 games, while Sociedad are down in 12th place in the standings, 25 points behind the league leaders.

The recent signings of Philippe Coutinho and Yerra Mina have significantly strengthened Barcelona's squad, but there seems sure to be even more transfer activity at the Nou Camp over the coming months.

Gerard Deulofeu, Rafinha, Carles Alena, Dennis Saurez and Sergi Roberto are amongst the players linked with a move away from the club, opening the door for even more incomings during 2018.

We look at four players who manager Ernesto Valverde may add to his squad this year.

All to play for Barca in the second leg of the Copa del Rey tie between FC Barcelona and Celta de Vigo. With the first leg ending 1-1 and Celta's recent history against Barca, this leg will take the priority over weekend's La Liga fixture.

FC Barcelona will be looking to win comfortably the second leg against Celta at the Camp Nou. In order to do that they need Lionel Messi at his best - ALLAboutFCBarcelona.com

For Erneste Valverde, Barca's second leg tie against Celta will take the highest priority over the weekend's travel to Estadio Municipal de Anoeta to take on Real Sociedad. That's the good thing about having a nine point lead over the second placed team in the league; you could prioritize matches. In the league we will get chances to rectify poor results because of the lead. But in the cup we are more or less in a must win match. Technically we need a goalless draw to proceed but that kind of attitude will spell danger. So we should go for the win; anyways we always do!

FC Barcelona has agreed on a deal to sign Colombian Defender Yerry Mina from Palmeiras for €11 Million Euros. He is expected to have his medical at Barca this week and complete the signing formalities with the club. His signing paves way for Javier Mascherano's exit from the club. Everyone was expecting Barca to sign Yerry Mina, but it appears that the club believe Manchester City and Real Madrid could inflate the summer transfer window and the player's price could go up further.

With Barca capturing Philippe Coutinho at a record £142 Million Pounds, the future of many promising Barca youngsters and fringe players are at stake. There could be an exodus of players come this summer inorder to balance the book at FC Barcelona.

5 Barca Youngster who could push for a transfer next summer - AllAboutFCbarcelona.com

With the conclusion of Coutinho deal there is expected to be a substantial number of clear-out at Barca come this summer. There are some senior players along with young players who will be either forced or will prefer to mve out of Camp Nou. Of the senior players Mascherano is expected to move to China as he is very much near the end of his career (then looking at Paulinho situation it may be too early to say), Aleix Vidal is another player who is expected to move out even though I wouldn't be very much surprised if the club decides to retain. He could be still a good squad player, one who could play in multiple role. That may be sometimes under-appreciated, but still would have an heavy impact in keeping the squad fresh for bigger matches.

Here in this article we take a look at the five youngsters of Barca who could be making a move away from Camp Nou as Coutinho arroval seriously threatens their chances:
