Eric Abidal would be under going the operation today and everyone associated with Barca is eagerly waiting to know how it went. We still don't know how serious the tumour is, but if some reports are to be believed - this could be a small and preliminary stage tumour. That's one rumour everyone of us want to believe. All our prayers are with Abidal and his family through this very tough times. Meanwhile the final players for this season's Champions League Quarter Final has been emerged and as expected most of the big teams are there. The final line up are Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, Shaktar Donetsk, Schalke, Inter Milan, Totenham and Real Madrid. Schalke is emerging as the firm favourite among Barca fans as a potential opponent. Just as a reminder - there is no restriction this time around for the draw. So we can get anyone when the draws are done tomorrow.

The first leg of Quarter Finals will be held on 5 and 6th of April and the second leg a week after on 12th and 13th. That's why I don't want to get paired with Real Madrid. Taht will make four El Clasico clash in two weeks time. Schalke looks like the obvious choice for everyone followed by Shaktar. Last year I wrote a piece about a supposed curse of Arsenal, Have a Look - The Curse of Arsenal. So from historic point of view, we would be struggling to get past the next round. But then all these statistics has to end and Quarter Finals is the best place to make that happen. The biggest challenge come from the Englis trio of Chelsea, Manchester United and Totenham, and we would be looking to avoid them in particular.

Meanwhile the defensive injuries are just mounting with Abidal also now out. Pique and Milito are the only fit defenders available. Pique has been off coulour in recent matches and Milito does not even have the confidence of the coach. Maxwell, Alves all are carrying some kind of knokcs. Meanwhile Puyol's injury break just keep increasing every week. Milito and Pique would be the ideal choice to field in the match against Getafe. The team has taken a step in the right direction by promoting Fontas into the first team. Meanwhile the emrging star Gerard Deulofeu is rumoured to be training with the first team. If true this is a great news as it should help in warding off interest, which is increasing for some time.
